Hands-down, the most useful pickup bed accessory that I’ve ever used is a powered lift gate. Everything else pales in comparison. Magnetic load management doesn’t even register.

I can't see this ever being done. The magnets would have to be fairly strong to be of any use. Catch your finger in between a 50lbs pull N52 just once and you'll learn to be really careful around magnets. Sharp metal objects and magnetized bed....ya thats a brilliant idea.

Here's a vision for ya....
A hunter comes across a Ford pick up way out in the boonies with a shriveled up skeleton in the bed...
Turns out he was out cutting wood and sat down in the bed to take a rest, forgetting the truck bed magnet was activated, and he had a set of keys in his back pocket....
He couldn't get up, couldn't turn the truck magnet off, and became trapped...
His last thought was "wow, what a great ides Ford had" !!!

The biggest problem I see with this is that it would have to be an electromagnet, which would require a LOT juice and produce mega heat. Not a very efficient solution. Would have a serious impact on mpg or electric range.

other than that ford just wasting time... although if they wanted to make the truck beds better they could start by sending all of us the tie downs and hardware we read about in the adverts, see listed in the manuals and paid for...
