Actually it requires you to have your hands on the wheel at all times. If you remove them, after awhile you get a warning message. I think the Lincoln version might allow hands free, and auto lane changing. Some GM versions do, too.

I think you are confusing 'Blue Cruise' self-driving and 'Lane Centering Assist" that's available on all
