  1. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

Thanks. Sadly that does not seem particularly exploitable. But at least now we know.
  2. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

thanks for the advice. I have not heard good things about the install. I already have a deposit on the sweat jar. In addition to forgetting the t-nuts, they gave me the wrong length cross bar for under the wind screen.
  3. Recommend a Reverse Camera Relocation Kit?

If you end up DIY, I can tell you exactly which 2 wires to splice. Managed to get a big standard RCA camera for to display nicely, although no backup guide lines.
  4. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Finally cracked and ordered a rack. Arrived recently (not quite “today”). Sadly missing the t-nuts to mount the front windscreen. Installing soon.

  6. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

BTW, here it the Amazon RCA switcher I mentioned.
  7. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

Some more progress but no love. You can absolutely tie into the connector under the tail gate and connect any camera (incl cheap rca cameras) by connecting the video source (rca center post) to the white/green and the rca outer ground to the blue/grey. This would work for mounting a backup...
  8. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

Finally go around to investigating the inputs behind the radio. Looks like the pic I saw showing a video rca connector in the dash must have been for an aftermarket system. I can confirm there is no such connector on the lariat screen or controller. I figured that was to easy to be true.
  9. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

Let me know how it goes. I keep saying I am going to try it, have all the parts to try it, and keep getting distracted. Will def give it a shot when my Prinsu is installed as I have a bunch of othe wiring to do then.
  10. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Was your “wind noise” a consistent high frequency hun? Kinda like blowing across the top of an empty bottle? Have been trying to figure out where that is coming from. It isn’t wheel hub/beating hum. That much I know.
  11. I’m 6’3”, will I fit in the new Ranger?

I am 6'2, but taller in the torso rather than legs to headroom is usually an issue. Not problem in the ranger and as other said, I don't put my seat all the way back for legroom. All told, very happy with the interior "fit".
  12. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

Fair enough. I am still going to give a try and connecting in at the back of the Sync screen, otherwise I will at a second camera screen.
  13. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

My strategy is that I picked up a simple 4 channel RCA video box off amazon that lets you select any of 4 inputs, or view multiples in split screen or quad view. Was hoping we would collectively find a simple trigger, like that powering the camera sends signal down the RCA and triggers the...
  14. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

My understanding is that ultimately it ends up as a video RCA connector at the back of the dash display. Haven’t confirmed that yet but planning to soon.
  15. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Many thanks. I have practically the same truck, and have struggled with where to add lights without blocking the ACC (or relocating it) and without ditching the lariat grill that I like, but is very limiting for light placement vs the XLT. This is a great solution. Thanks for sharing.
  16. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Nice. What phone mount is that?
  17. What did you do to your Ranger today?

That is sweet! Don't normally like bull bars, but that one is just minimalist enough for my taste. Can you share more pics (i.e. side view)?
  18. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

I think the problem is that the video feed inputs at the back of the sync unit by RCA connector (from another posters pic during head unit swap) which has its own pos and neg. So there is a pos and neg for camera power, and and rca pos and neg.
  19. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

See, I was thinking about using a camera with a standard RCA connector and splitting it behind the dash with a power relay to trigger it, rather than splicing off the original harness. It’s more wiring, but less issue with identifying pins etc..
  20. Do "we" know how the reverse camera feed is trigger?

Was that triggered just by providing power to the camera? Looks like choice of camera might be a problem if that is you aftermarket camera.
