I'm reading through this thread and the companion thread, and I'm starting to get this really crazy idea that a truck forum may not be the best place to get medical advice.
Honestly I trust most real world experiences and what's worked for them over some quack Dr's that are out there. Not saying all Dr's are bad but it's nice to see what's worked for people compared to the generic Dr response that I received which was "there's nothing you can do and just wait it out". I think most of us here are intelligent enough to make our own decisions in the end but hearing what's worked and what hasn't can really help some get through this. :)

Hey, Dave. As a fellow Dave, I am rooting for you to get better. I have been exposed to the WuFlu several times, and in fact, I think we are going through a Delta strain incident in our house right now. Fairly mild symptoms for us, Thank God.

For some in-depth discussion of helpful nutritional support for health and recovery, have a look at Dr. Andrew Saul's excellent web resource. Since you are bed-ridden anyway, have a look.
http://doctoryourself.com

The Chinese have been using Vitamin C for prevention and recovery since February or March 2020, and their COVID statistics are incredible. (I know, you can't trust any information coming out of China, but still, there are seemingly reliable reports you can read...)

I can tell you, Vitamin C really helps me any time I am challenged by illness. Talk to your doctor about intravenous Vitamin C. It is really helpful when your immune system is undergoing immense challenges. You can get it without going to a hospital.
Specific usage of Vitamin C in severe illness.

Thanks Dave! I do take a lot of Vit. C on a daily basis. Problem was with this I couldn't eat anything so trying to high doses would've been hard on the stomach. I did have a mobile IV last Monday which included this:

The Mega Myers' Cocktail is a higher dose package than we've ever offered before.

Regardless of your symptoms, this package will provide a blast of fluids, antioxidants, and vitamins your body may be deprived of. It has 5 doses of Vitamin C and 2.5 doses of glutathione. This package is designed for those looking for the ultimate immunity boost.

  • 1000cc Normal Saline
  • Vitamin B Complex
  • Vitamin B12
  • 5000mg Vitamin C
  • 1000mg Glutathione
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
I'm not sure if they have this in other areas but for anyone local here in AZ this is their website.

Hilarious that Covid vaccine is where society decided to draw the line for people to be accountable, and most are so proud to virtue signal. Alcohol, fast food and tobacco each kill more every year than Coivd has in it's career, but alcohol is considered a staple of life these days. We have a society with 30% collecting government hand-outs. Personal bankruptcy is an acceptable financial plan, and kids can graduate high school without being able to read or do basic math, but crucify anyone not willing to take and experimental drug to prevent a virus of 2% infection rate and about 2% of those are fatal.

The over-reaction to Covid is absolutely absurd, especially 18 months in. Lock-downs were for a few weeks to flatten the curve. Emergency over-flow hospitals built and had almost no use. Yet 18 months we still believe whatever the TV tells us. Masks are bad, masks are good, 2 masks is better than 1, 3 is better than 2, the vaccine will fix everything, the vaccines doesn't stop the spread..... They have no idea what they are talking about, and spread fear to control the masses.
The reason for those in this society that accept personal responsibility, knowing their actions can adversely affect the health of others is why the line was drawn at THE best preventative measure, vaccines. The infection rate is much more than 2%, in some states its over 15%. Saying a fatality rate of 2% does nothing to explain the long term adverse side effects of covid. You may need an oxygen tank for the rest of your life, or you could get severe vascular disease which could cause stroke at an early age, you could have long term damage to your heart that may shorten the quality of life. Did you live? Sure, but at what long term cost? Looks like youā€™ll be the boy wonder to roll the dice and find out. Lets see how your experimental treatment proves out over the long term, and if all of this was really just a media induced ā€œover reactionā€. Looking forward to your thesis once its published in JAMA.
I believe the 30% you quote as getting handouts may be a bit low. Did you consider all those that take government handout deductions for children, mortgage interest, and property taxes in your 30% figure? All of these are totally optional handouts and the taxpayer always has the option to pay full price.
Masks are always good, does your surgeon wear a mask? Does the guy in the bodyshop wear a mask when heā€™s painting a car? This is common frickin sense that a 1st grader could grasp!!! Its a frickin filter for your pie hole?
But hey your liberty is paramount even if it gets a tube shoved down the throat of your neighbor so they can live due to your selfish, careless actions. Yea thats not liberty, thats one mans inhumanity towards his fellow man!

The anecdotal evidence and hypocrisy in this thread make me want to cheer for the virus.
To say: "...couldnā€™t do anything but sleep and crawl to the couch. Between the nausea, body aches, sweats and chills I never felt anything this painful in my life. I honestly wouldnā€™t wish this on my worst enemy!" and at the same time ignore and openly downplay a vaccine that has been championed by people who spend their lives working on vaccines and infectious diseases is unfathomable. You don't trust the vaccine given to MILLIONS of people (and is now FDA approved) but you'll trust a guy who worships Mongolian salt crystals and gives you a shot of vitamins and some other stuff. Imagine telling Michael Jordan that you'd rather trust your Aunt's neighbor's electrician when it comes to basketball strategy. It's insane.

The people who say they won't get the vaccine because it's not FDA approved and at the same time say they take Ivermectin even though the FDA explicitly says not to do so, have to be extremely flexible to perform those mental gymnastics. BTW, it's now approved so I'm sure you're all lining up to get the shot. Trump himself has publicly advised people to get the vaccine so if you're one of those who just do whatever your political party tells you to, you should get it. FYI, I'm very proud to say I've never registered with any political party because I think the Ds and Rs are both so far up their own a$$es that they can't see the truth.

Casinos make money because they look at the big picture and the long play. They might lose on this bet and that bet, but they win overall. That's how this vaccine and masking thing works. Can you get sick no matter what you do? Maybe. Are you more likely to be sick if you ignore it? Definitely. I have 3 kids under 12 who can't be vaccinated. Some of you b1tch about the long-term effects of the vaccine. What about the long-term effects of getting COVID? What's that? We don't know? Oh, maybe you should remember that we live together as a giant community and your actions have serious consequences for people other than you. Nobody is going to catch the vaccine so don't worry about that. Unfortunately, kids who CAN'T be vaccinated can catch COVID. Maybe the long-term effects are nothing. Maybe they're a lot worse. You don't know so why wouldn't you err on the side of safety?

Do I think anyone will change their mind based on truth, data, and logic? No. Because those things don't matter anymore. It's all about ME, MY, and MINE.

Haven't been on here long but sure cross paths with your post quite often, glad you are getting better.

We got covid this July. My wife was hospitalized 5 nights, I had mild symptoms but the fatigue was legit and I was still taking care of my twin 6yo boys. Our two friends who we suspect we got it from were also hospitalized. We are doing much better now but I can see my wife is still a hair off from pre-covid infection. I suspect I had it Jan 2020 after the CES show but who knows, they said it was the flu then.

All that to say, I understand and glad your getting better.

My neighbor had it and spent 2 months in the hospital and is home now. Supposedly not positive anymore. However she is on oxygen, meds and still coughing in bed sick. Thats over 3 months now she has been sick. Things are not good here, my wife lost 2 relatives who left behind small kids. they could not say goodbye bc the bodies where cremated immediately after death. Hospitals dont give a crap about the patients, covid or not. They are also over filled to the point people are outside on the ground or sleeping on plastic chairs. If you dont have money for down payment, you dont get in, if you cant prove a source of income, you dont get in. Ridiculous how people are treated here by medical companies. They were caught recently sailing a $11 medicine for $400. Me and my wife are vaccinated now, but are very careful when we go out. Getting covid here is death sentence and a financial disaster. The Vaccine was free though, so Im not sure how that happened.

Hey brother, with you living in the west I wondering if that's like the Jack Daniels mega cocktail we use here in the south. Our's may not cure anything, but with enough doses we just don't give a damn. :)

20 months in, here have been 213 million cases 4.45 million deaths, with 7.8 billion population. That is 2.7% infection rate and 0.06% fatality rate. Drink the CNN Kool-aid and believe what ever you like, but Covid isn't nearly as detrimental to our species as is portrayed.

On the topic of best for humanity. do you think 7.8 billion on this planet is ideal? How about 9 billion, maybe 15 billion? Should we all live in boxes completely sealed off from everyone else to ensure no one ever dies?

The only guarantee in life is death. It is coming for all of us. It can't be stopped. How you live matters.

Our species has increased population by over 100 million in the 20 months Covid has been destroying our lives. LOL

In July a +80 year old Australian died. He was the first Covid death in Australia in 2021.

Yes, 1 death in 2021 of a man older than the life expectancy, and they have locked down the country completely. You cannot leave your house without government approved reason. They are building an internement camp to confine the non-vaxxed.

can i just ask you though, somewhere in that 20 months, masks, social distancing, lockdowns and vaccines entered the picture.
can you give us some numbers on where we would be if none of those methods were employed and the virus was left to run amok ?? specifically, where would that 0.06% mortality rate actually be?
That is the great unknown, but if you look at the earliest outbreaks the number were not much worse. Early Europe Italy and Greece outbreaks were not substantially worse. Most of the fatalities have been surrounding jamming sick people into hospitals and the virus ran wild in those confined spaces. Outside of the hospitals and elderly care facilities, before masks, before distancing, and Italy was hit with 3.2% infection rate IIRC.

There is no way to know definitively how bad it would have been, but no where has it been anywhere near as bad as their initial fear porn of over 30% infection rate. I remember some News reports suggesting over 90% infection rate and 30% fatalities.

-I'm not suggesting it's not real.
-I'm not suggesting anyone not get vaxxed, or wear the PPE they are comfortable with.
-I'm not saying society shouldn't be responsible for their wn safety.

-I'm also tired of being told by everyone who watches the news that Covid is the end of the world. CDC and Faucci have lied or been wrong about almost every they say, yet people eat it up without a thought.

would you step up and volunteer for humanity's sake, and do your part to reduce the population to that magical accepted number?

no, that would be asinine. nobody would.
Of course not, nor do I want any individual person to die, but I also believe our species is not best by having 8 billion people on the planet, and grinding on the freedoms of those who are alive, to try and get more of us here.
