How old is the battery? Sometimes you'll get wonky codes when the battery is going bad.

Tested good, was first thing I checked followed by fuses. BCM, PCM, ABS not communicating. Then the transfer case coil deal and the low engine temp codes. Now the "dimming" pops up on my cluster screen as well. Waiting on the dealership to call me back about getting it in and a ride to the liquor store.

Bad battery or bad ground somewhere for such a widespread issue.

Add ABS and Trax light and camera code to the list. I checked the ground and it looked ok I'm going through as much of the wiring as I can but I'm no electrician. I suspect it's a problem on the passenger side, as I found evidence of rats there.

Actually, I hope it’s something simpler than that - undoing their damage can be very difficult and/or expensive. Too many of us have found out the hard way…

Haven't found any wiring damage so far but there's a lot to look at and test. I keep steel wool in the body to engine bay area's on each side and haven't seen a problem since.

I guess the ground could be bad, had that happen to my Bronco but it got hard to start it when it was bad. None of that here.

Starting to think this is behind the dash maybe? Plausible ? Anyone pulled a dash? I can get behind the glove box and the fuse box area easily but not sure about the rest.

On the subject of mice I'm considering buying the rodent proof tape I found on Amazon and making it a weekend project wrapping vulnerable wiring in my truck and the wife's Honda. We visit our house in the country every month or so and I don't always get to spray the peppermint oil in the engine area.

I've sanded down every ground on painted panels I could find and I'm about to replace the battery sensor and do a reset. After that, I could maybe start with the BCM, but I'm going to leave it with the dealership and not guess (but they will).
