Figured I'd finally make a post after lurking for a while.

Got tired of waiting for this:

So as of last week, I'm now waiting (less, hopefully) for this:
Screen Shot 2021-12-06 at 10.00.27 PM.png

Can't wait to smell the fuel in my oil, while sitting on my dampened tailgate. ?

Thanks for all the contributions here; I've learned a lot already... some of it great, some of it a little anxiety inducing. ?

Cheers,
Elton

Update: Now that it's delivered, pasting the time table here for the order from placement to closing:
Order placed (11/30/21) -> Build Scheduled for Jan 24 (12/9/21) -> In Production/Window Sticker created (1/24/22) -> Blend Date (1/27/22) -> Delivery Estimate (2/22/22)(2/24/22) -> Built (2/4/22) -> Shipped (2/7/22) -> Delivery! (2/17/22) -> Picked up and Home!! (2/23/22)

Welcome, can't wait to see your new truck and potential mods you will do! You definitely did some lurking, you already know the hottest topics. I personally never checked fuel in my oil, probably should of to add a data point but lazy. 20k+miles and 1 year later still smiling, just sad I ran out of mods I want to do.... I say don't worry too much as you have anxiety already induced, seen plenty of Rangers throughout this forum and mostly facebook forums that have gone 150K+ miles with no major repairs. Phil was right about them testing this bad boy out to 150K + miles rigorously to the 90th percentile.

First mod will likely be RokBloxz XL flaps. Like, bring them to dealer and install before I even leave the lot after taking delivery. The rock chip stories from the Grabbers has given me the willies already.

Once I'm home, will delete the steps from the factory step rails and run them as fake sliders for the time being. Just plug and cover up with grip tape.

Already thinking first big mod will be AWE 0fg exhaust... Would really like to hear low rpm cruise sound and highway level rpm drone first before I decide.

Plan to get the Extang 2.0 Tri Fold for a tonneau. And probably get the High Impact bed mat made by BedRug. No decision on tailgate dampener just yet..... ? (although the one on my Tundra is pretty nice, so...... ?)

Will also have to add the Ford REDARC package for tow controller at some point... will probably use my stash of Ford Pass points on that. ?

This is certainly gonna be fun... ?

I have more paint chips than I would like from my tires and they are just stock hankooks no wide offset or whatever they call it. Good idea

Enjoy your journey researching exhaust systems. I have the Borla one(FP) and love it. CAI in thought? Tune?

Nice I loved when I had a tonneau cover, I guess so much that I upgraded to a camper shell instead.

TG damper is actually useful hah, especially when you are out camping and don't want a loud bang if you are opening from inside of the bed. I still have mine in a box somewhere though... Honestly might have to purchase another.

Enjoy your Ford stash points, so nice they give a little bit of that for some accessories. Enjoy your modding journey and please update us with your own build thread or wherever :)

Are you getting the Extang 2.0 hard Tri Fold or the Extang 2.0 Trifecta soft tonneau? I have the soft one in the Signature series and really like it.

Welcome Elton. As you've already seen there's a ton of cool mods here and two groups. Those that damper and those who resist. Since you've already had one on your Tundra I don't have to tell you how useful they are. So why not just get one before your trucks even built and start off on the right foot. You can see from this thread here they're also good for preventing major injury. ? You'll most likely have a room full of stuff for your Ranger before it's even built, this site does that to you. lol

The hard tri fold. I want that extra security as some times I store some pretty high dollar sporting equipment in my truck while traveling to the destination.

Forgot to say welcome from a fellow Pennsylvania!

I'm sure you will like the Extang hard folding tonneau. It's the one our installer recommends to customers if they want a folding hard tonneau.

Hi Elton, welcome aboard. Pay no attention to the damper deniers, they're in the wrong room and don't want to admit that they don't know how to open the door :giggle:

The (Ford) hard tri-fold has worked great for me, it was part of the build and I have not regretted having it...so far...Sealing the tailgate gaps and having the tri-fold...I get maybe a small dixie cup of water in the tail gate area after major storming, otherwise, dry.

By the way, Dave (@AzScorpion ) has some other cool stuff he'll mention you need...and you do ;)

Hang on to the Bronco order. My brother just told me his friend ordered one. A base 2 door. It is coming in an the dealership offered him $8K to give it to them to sell. You might get an offer to fund your mods.

Oh, I'm not letting it go. I like to have.... 'options'. ?

But, even as a simple 2DR 2.3 w/ 7spd Big Bend with only tow package, I'm deep enough in the Chapman line that it will likely be a LOOOOONG time before I get pulled for scheduling. ?

Welcome Elton - you are way ahead of the curve on mods and solutions than a lot of other owners. Paint is meant to be chipped and pin striped - if you’re using your truck right. ? Glad you’re hanging onto that Bronco order - it’s nice to have options.

Don’t let @dondonbabyraptor lead you astray on mods - he has more stuff in boxes in his garage than I have on my truck and his combined. ? Although, he has some great adventure stories. ?

Iff anyone else is from Western PA (Pittsburgh or surrounding areas) we should all get together for some off-roading. I think there are a few places over in Ohio that would be fun. I think it's about 2 hours from Pittsburgh and only an hour or so from Eerie area.

I'm on the opposite end in the Northeast corner.

Not saying it's out of the question that I'd never travel that far, but it'd have to be a pretty well planned event for me given the distance.
