I've driven my wife's '21 all over the country, and trucks frequently spit rocks, miraculously sparing our windshield... so far. I try to maintain a safe distance, but aggressive drivers often make it unavoidable.

I used my Ford points to order a rock guard, but now that I have it, I'm hesitant to install it. The mounting system relies solely on 3M tape, which seems insufficient. I've seen similar designs on new Broncos, but assumed they still secured under the hood like clear acrylic guards.

No problems with 3M tape. Never had any issues with my rock guard (after 5 years)

That sits flat on the hood basically, tape should be fine. Just clean the area with alcohol first.

As long as you clean the paint thoroughly it will hold very well.
