I was wondering if I take the keypad off my 2019, whenever my 2024 comes in, if it will work with the new truck? I use it when my truck is outside and locked and I need to open it quick and don't have the key with me. It's quicker than any other option.

Look up the part number for both trucks. There are 2 models for my one truck. One with remote start and one without. If it is the same part number for your 2 trucks you will be in the same place I am.

haha...I unlock my car while walking to the truck...or, I can also use the key fob remote? I can only think one thing the key pad can do without the key is if you locked them in the truck...but then...I still have the phone?
I usually keep the key in the truck and use the number pad to get back in. I stopped doing that just this week since my battery decided to go dead without notice. I hate having the key in my pocket.

Me too...I carry my keys on a carabineer hooked to my belt loop...and again, phone is always on my belt hence Ford app is always handy...

Great idea, thanks! I'll have to give that a try.
My wife's 2011 Explorer has touch buttons and neither of us have ever used it lol...
This is the carabeener I've been using from Lowe's hardware since I've had my Ranger...hard to loose...

I moved the keypad to the inside of the fuel door. It doesn’t scream to the bad guys that the keys might be inside the truck.

I’ve lost my keys in a pretty remote area while hunting once. No cell service so Ford Pass would have been little use. Hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing…just leave the keys in the truck.

Phone on your belt? You’re showing your age….

I owned the truck for two years before I used the keypad I paid extra for. Camping with my girlfriend and son. In bear country with a recent sighting in the campground. Nothing with a fragrance allowed unattended. We kept food, dishes, and toiletries in the truck. Gave each of them the code.

Both versions sold on Ford Accessories did not work on my 2023 Ranger XLT.

I use the keypad and leave the keys in the truck whenever I go hiking, running, kayaking etc. For redundancy I had a door key made and keep it hidden on the outside of the truck should the keypad fail.
This is my solution. I had the bit of a key made then attached that to a piece of Micarta as the bow. It sort of looks like a wierd small screwdriver.
it's hidden in a plainsight sort of manner on the exterior.
it's my back up plan if somehow my keyfob is missing.

The Ford Pass app does a lot more and free...
Keypad is extremely nice to have though you can lock your keys in the truck, it is instant, etc. For like theme parks or the beach keypad is infinitely more useful and useable than the app. Do you really want to lock and unlock your truck a bunch and have to wait 30 seconds to a minute for each operation to go through?
