Has anyone successfully removed the shark fin antenna from the roof of the Ranger? I don't see any section of the service manual that has been uploaded that shows how to do this. Typically the headliner has to be dropped down in order to remove a nut from the bottom of the antenna base. If nobody has this info, I will figure it out this weekend and post up how to do it.

How about the rain rails on the roof also?

It unscrews very easily with your hand, just put a new antenna last week

Under the assumption that its like the other Ford Sharkfins you just remove the rear trim and grab handles and peel back liner, undo the bolt and it comes off the top.

Confirmed that the Ranger antenna base comes off like other Ford shark fin antennas. It isn't difficult, but it takes some time.

Remove rear grab handles.
Loosen the top part of of C-pillar trim lower half (or completely remove the trim piece).
Remove upper rear seat belt bolts (T47 torx).
Loosen and remove upper C-pillar trim.
Carefully pull the rear portion of the headliner downward enough to get your hands above it. If you have the sliding rear window, the top window track is in the way of dropping the headliner down, but you can work it past that.
With the rear sliding window open, you can easily reach in above the headliner and access the bottom side of the antenna.
Grab an 8mm ratcheting wrench or small ratchet with an 8mm socket and remove the bolt and clip holding the antenna base on. You might be able to squeeze the metal retaining clip enough to pop the antenna base up and off the roof, but I couldn't get it so I just removed the bolt and clip.
Unplug the 2 connectors seen in the pics.

I can get more pics if needed.

If it’s a flat antenna. Can’t wait!

Awesome! Thanks for the write up! I wanted to do this so I could put vinyl on my roof to protect it from everything that tends get up there, so this will help big time!

Yes the project was complete back on August 26th, but I have been super busy and haven't had time to share, or even get back on the forum. My roof, mirror caps, fender emblems/vents, and Raptor grille are now all a nice gloss black. I used Autoflex Express removable paint to do this.
