I have a truxedo roll-up cover that leaks a lot. The header seal is new and I am wondering if the water is coming in around the plastic bed rails.

I get a fair amount of water that comes in the gaps around the tailgate but otherwise the leakage around the perimeter of the bed in quite minimal. Anything that is more than 6 - 8 inches from the rear corners of the bed will stay dry even in heavy rain.

I think washing the truck is a different story, since the pressure washer literally sprays in sideways.

I have a bakflip mx4.

Contrary to what the manufacturers state, the roll up type tonneau's are not water proof.....they will let water in. How much and where depends on how you positioned the sealing rails on the sides and the bulkhead seal.
I have a Truxedo Lo-Pro. It will leak from the back, but that is mostly due to the large gaps from the tailgate gaps. It did leak from the front corners when new, but if you get under the cover with a flashlight and have someone spray water on the front/front corners you should be able to spot where water is entering. Probably be able to seal it using some adhesive backed foam or the blocks of foam you got.
Also, depends on what type of water is getting in...meaning rain/washing/ect. If truck is sitting, more tends to get in. Driving thru a rain, less seems to enter.
Pressure washing and going thru a pressure type car wash....expect a lot.

I had the Truxedo Lo-Pro on my Ram. My experience was exactly the same. If it's raining and absolutely can't/shouldn't get wet, move it about 10 inches from the tailgate. If you're going through a car wash or using a pressure washer, water will get in.

On my roll up, I installed tailgate seals, thanks to someone's post on this forum. Even with pressure washing, I get very very very minimal amount of water in. Even the flap seal that seals the top of tailgate doesn't really pass any water, but I don't direct spray for a long time up close. It is a very tight seal on tailgate.
Never wished I had a hard cover, as roll up so so much more convenient for me. I use the bed often. Only used 303 on it, but not often, maybe twice a year. Top is in GREAT shape for 4 years old. Just a bit dusty from all the dirt roads around here.

X2 for the 303....I apply it every few months and the cover is still like new after almost 3 years.

I've got a hard-rolling cover on mine, and the only time I have issues with water intrusion is when the drains for the cover get clogged, which will overflow into the bed of the truck. I'm actually surprised I don't get water issues more often because the bed rack mounts under the rails for the cover.

I think you guys are on to something. I get so much water it has to be coming though the canvas and running along the metal ribs, to the side tracks and down in the front. That is about the only way I could get this much water from one night. I have a rubber bed liner so the water isnt draining out the front of the bed. I bought the cover used think i got all the parts. Am I missing anything in the front corner?

I have the Roll-N-Lock A series, Dad's Taco has Roll-N-Lock M series. We get very little water in around the tailgate but nothing (so far) in the front. We have drain lines from the cover canister that exit through the bed header. A friend on ours has same type as you on his Tundra. Carries all kinds of tools & equipment never mentions or seems to have water issues. Off the top of my head guessing you may have a bad seal?? BTW, like the truck color matching ends on your cargo bar. :like:

I got the cheapest Truxedo and the only noticeable water intrusion is in the driver's side, front where the seal never fully expanded after unrolling it. A little bit of water sometimes comes in there on a hard rain or the 6th month carwash routine, but really nothing to care about. Some gets in the tailgate, but that is only when I'm driving in heavy rain. Again, minor. It's still an 'outdoor' storage area in my mind, but keeps it safe from most of the elements.

Just drove 110 miles in rain and the only water in the bed with my Truxedo Lo Pro is near the tailgate and it is just a few drops.

I have the soft folding Extang Trifecta 2.0 in the optional Signature Series fabric (more canvas like than the standard marine vinyl). No water in bed, not even when I pressure wash at home. We sell truck accessories which includes different brand hard and soft tonneau covers and normally I would have had one of the guys in the shop install it for me, BUT I installed it myself, so I'm pretty proud that I did it right and no leaks. The Extang Trifecta 2.0 (in the standard marine vinyl) is our best selling soft folding tonneau.

I think I have the Truxedo lo pro too and I get a little water at the sides. But I live in the PNW and we have constant heavy rain for days and weeks sometimes so I can live with that.

I too have the Truxedo Low Pro 15 and it leeks a tiny bit but nothing major at all. I have had it for 3.5 years now and love it. I did add some tailgate seals to help.

I have a BAK Revolver 4. It leakes some up front. My other truck has a Truxedo roll up. It leaks a bit at the front too. All in all, neither roll up has been great, and from now on I’ll likely buy folders.
