Not sure where to put this. I’m trying to install power in the bed using the wolf haus kit.
I can’t get this damn dummy plug out! I don’t see a clip holding it in.Truck is a 2021 ranger tremor, if that matters

Use a flat blade screwdriver to push the tab on the side of the plug shown at the 1:45 mark.

At the 2 minute 11 second mark...he mentions the port being slightly loose. It's the gasket. It was measured with a spray-on bed liner in mind. If it's the original paint like in the video, all you have to do is get a thicker gasket. You're going to have to make your own.

How is the plug powered? is it only on when the truck is, is it on a timer (LOL until the door opens)
and what Amp is it good for, like small 1500W inverter?
or just good enough for bed LEDs :(

It's rated at 20 amps., so 240w. Only for when the motor is on, and a few minutes afterward as the battery minder sees fit. I installed it in the bed of my truck, but with a marine 12VDC plug rather than a cigarette lighter style. I run a 20a 12VDC to 12VDC charger on it to charge my fishing battery, which is fully charged by the time I get home from fishing, and ready for my next fishing trip. Expedition people charge their house battery from it and my charger allows a solar input as well if you're camping.

It is actually on a timer, together with the 12 volt outlet in the dash. The timeout duration can be set in Forscan. The OEM setting is something like 15 minutes. I believe the max is something like 18 hrs (what ever FFFF in HEX is in seconds). Of course the BMS will shut it down if battery gets too low.

I am apprehensive about pulling a full 20 amps through that circuit on the regular. The wiring seems undersized to me. That said, my main use for that circuit is to provide ignition power to accessories that require it. For now, thats my compressor and my redarc dc to dc charger. I also have a wire from there running to the front that energizes my aux relay box. I felt that was a better and cleaner option than using fuse taps to find power under the dash.

I've read that on this forum, but in practise, don't believe it to be accurate at higher loads. In my case (factory set), where I am running a 20a 12VDC to 12VDC charger for my fishing battery, it shuts off when the key shuts off, most likely due to the BMS. In fact, if the truck battery isn't fully charged, it sometimes delays in coming on when the key is turned on. So if you're running a couple of LED's, the timer is probably in control, but with any kind of a load, the BMS controls it. I'm good with that; when I'm 40 kms from help, my priority is starting and running the vehicle.

It is designed for 20a and protected by a 20 a fuse. I wouldn't worry about that as all wires are oversized by design. I have no problems with my 20a DC to DC charger. But in my original post; I stated that I use a DC marine connector, (rated at 40a, waterproof and locking), instead of a cigarette lighter style plug. Cigarette style plugs are not water proof and I've seen numerous ones burn out or melt and fall apart. That is the weak link and I recommend against installing that type in the outdoor environment of a truck box.

12-Volt Power Point Settings

Note: Heavy Loads - The BMS will trip off the Power Points to preserve the battery, if voltage drops below, If I recall around 11.5 Volts being the trigger point.

I was going to say, throw in a lot of cussing to help the plug come out better too.

I use it for battery chargers on power tools, Bluetooth speakers and for phone chargers and got the pigtail for led bed lights. One of the best accessories for my pickup. Best being
Tailgate strut assist.
