That is not correct, the 1.6 L EcoBoost in my Fiesta ST is also GDI and has not had any fuel dilution problems.My solution now is to not look at the stick and have ford change oil at the milage they recommend. If the ecoboom goes boom then they pay to fix it . Turns out all the eco motors do this not just the 2.3 . They are gas motors designed as a diesel. Not a problem for diesel to be in the oil .
I don't know if you were serious about the diesel angle but fuel dilution is just as serious an issue on diesel engines, I worked as a generator tech for a few years and had serious fuel dilution problems on a few of my engines (which FWIW were caused by residual pressure on the injectors when the engines were not running)
