Exxon. Why for me.... well, I live pretty rural and it's the only name brand gas station on my daily drive, plus it's also a quick-mart type store that has the best coffee. So I stop to grab a coffee on my way to work and if I need gas, I get it there too.

Used to be diehard Exxon or BP, then the last year o lived in NC, pretty much exclusively Sheetz and my truck seemed to run better.
Sheetz isn’t TopTier but they are constantly getting gas deliveries so I believe “fresh” gas is the best option so I go where 1) busy places 2) new places (new tanks).
A Murphy USA just opened not to long ago less than a mile from my house and in fact I’m going there this morning!

That's not the subject at hand. Simply a question of what brand individuals prefer to use when it comes to gas stations is all. It's not even an octane related question.

Now that I have somewhat given you an answer to that, I say start a different thread for that.

Murphy's is local and usually cheapest, they also have a pretty good rewards deal so that is where I usually fill up. Another bonus is that they are pretty busy so it is unlikely I'll get bad gas there.
I will not buy Shell unless I have no choice. I am not sure if they have changed the formula but back when they advertised V-power I think it was, I got significantly lower mpgs, hand calculated, on my motorcycle.

Any top tier. Kwik Star is four minutes away from home. At our river house BP is convenient and also top tier.

Sam's Club. Every Wed. whether I need it or not. It's right on my way to work and I can fill up early morning when hardly anybody is there. It gets super busy later in the day, so I am sure I am always getting fresh stuff.

Years ago I heard a story from a fuel delivery driver. We had a Williams Brothers pipeline terminal in our city. (not sure who owns it now).
Generic gasoline is delivered to the tank farm via pipeline. There the band specific gas formula is mixed at the semi tanker loading station as it is loaded. The driver inserts a code card and computer magic does the rest.

Pipelines are amazing technology. Various liquid products are pushed in sequence through the pipe, and tapped at the terminals with little mixing waste. So I suppose different octane levels could be delivered to the terminal. Trademark additives (remember Purple Martin's purple colored gas?) like BP Invigorate are added at the loading station.

Some say gas is gas. ....I'm thinking not so.

BP is pretty dominant around here. A nearby station sells 89 midgrade for the price of 87 regular every Sunday, when I'm a steady customer.
Once in a while I'll get a tank of 93 premium when I'm at Costco. A local quirk is that most 93 octane in this area is an ethanol blend while 91 premium is not. I don't really notice much difference in fuel economy and performance between 89 and 93 in my truck, which has the factory tune. I drive mostly highway miles, don't see that many stoplights.

Ford performance tune and a bp recently took over a Murphy oil and they have 93 octane only one in town or foriles with 93. Had an 01 mustang bullitt with a diablo predator tuner. It had an 87 and 93 only tunes . Always worried about the timing and tromping it . I would put 91 sometime 92 and dump real octane boost in 30 points or almost 3 octane but that shit ain't good for nothing. Sometimes when hot it pinged lol. That's why the ranger only gets that 93 even tho only needs 91.our shell station left so it's me and bp lol!!!!

Oh yeah I've had a bp credit card for years and finally got a gas discount of .15 cents all the time per gallon

There aren't many name brand stations left where I drive in IA. BP is common, otherwise it's mostly convenience stores, and most BP stations are also part of a convenience store.
Dedicated name brand stations with service bays died off decades ago. ...people gotta have their Big Gulp soda.
