Six quarts will be fine. Fuel dilution will take up the other .2 no problem. If you buy the extra you will use it next time anyway.

I buy two 5 gallons...I also use a dedicated paint mix bucket with 1.2 qt marked off...one 5 gallon is poured in and the other to pour 1.2...that partial 5 gallon will be used each time I change oil until it's used up...

I always add 7 quarts. Dipstick shows it overfilled very slightly. Next OTI the oil level has been right about the perfect fill mark. 57k miles and mine has never made oil.

My favorite part of telling everyone I add 7 quarts on an OC, is knowing how much it makes peoples heads explode with their trivial fears of crank strike and foaming. —not gonna happen folks, not overfilled by 0.8 it, won’t.

No oil leaks on mine, but my drain catch and guidance system does stay curiously oily. I’ve attributed that to residual oil mess from the change.

This has happened twice: Dealer did oil change, went home. Found small puddle under truck. Cleaned it up. Didn't leak afterwards.

I suspected that when they swapped the filter, they may have been a bit sloppy and there may have been some spillover somewhere on the chassis.

FWIW, I had two Motorcraft FL910S filters leak back to back on my Ecoboost Mustang.

When I see a good price on filters I will buy a 1/2 dozen or so. I changed the oil on the Mustang and the next day I noticed oil on the driveway, when I put the car up on my lift the oil was coming from the gasket area. I cleaned the mess and put another 1/4 turn on the filter. The next day it was leaking again. I took the filter off and put another Motorcraft filter on, after a couple of days that one was leaking. Ran to Walmart and got a Supertech filter and put that on. No more leaking.

I could not see anything obviously wrong with either filter and figured it was a defective gasket in someway and I had gotten a couple from a bad batch. I have used Motorcraft filters since this occurrence without issue.

My 2020 had an oil leak at 13K miles. The dealer did the UV inspection and said it came from back of the valve cover. They attempted the fix by replacing the valve cover gasket. That didn't fix it. They pulled the cover and inspected it more carefully. Found a hairline crack in the cover itself and replaced it. I didn't see any leak for 2-3 days afterward before I sold the car to Carmax. I had enough!!! Maybe they did fix it, but I couldn't confirm it for a longer duration.

WOW! That's a major f'-up! Does it read, "Replace engine assembly"?
Truly a huge mess up. Apparently this is an issue with the new f150 raptor. I believe the same tool was used on them as well…

Been over a week now. No new oil drips on my garage floor. Either oil sat clogged in the filter drain trough for MONTHS then suddenly decided to leak out (and the service tech didn't notice it the first, or second time)...or I suppose the filter could have been bad? Since they replaced it with the oil change...that's the only new variable since it first leaked.

I’ve found it pretty consistent on most vehicles that the difference between the bottom of the hashes or bottom hole and top hashes or top hole on the oil dipstick is 1 quart
