Been over a week now. No new oil drips on my garage floor. Either oil sat clogged in the filter drain trough for MONTHS then suddenly decided to leak out (and the service tech didn't notice it the first, or second time)...or I suppose the filter could have been bad? Since they replaced it...
I went to pick the truck up today. It sat in the dealers parking lot all night. First thing I did was look underneath it for any oil on the ground. Sure enough, there was.
They immediately pulled it back in and began checking. They said part of the oil filter drain/collection system was...
They said the filter was fine. The oil always ends up in the exact same spot on my garage floor. I had them change the oil and filter this time since it was due. If it goes a week without leaking I'm gonna say it was probably just the old filter. If it does leak again I'm getting under there...
2021 Ranger, 17k miles. About a month ago I found an oil puddle on my garage floor the size of my hand. I looked under and saw the oil filter drain trough covered with oil. I assumed the best at first and it took it the dealerships Quick Lane that has done its two oil changes so far. They...
I installed some HID's. Just standard ones, 35w. The passenger side works fine but the driver side has difficulty turning on. It will flash for a fraction of a second upon activation but not stay on. Turning them off and on a few times usually gets it to eventually work.
I swapped the...
After 6k miles on my 2021, I consistently get 25mpg @70mph, 23mpg @80mph, and less than 20mpg @90mph. Also, a 10+mph headwind or uphill will drop it to 18mpg or less. It's either eco or boost I guess. Not both.
I just find it unlikely that this dealer is putting aftermarket wheels, tires, lift kit, tune, exhaust, and more to reach the nearly $9k markup on every single ranger it plans on getting. If I'm down near them any time soon I will stop in and ask.
What is the most over msrp anyone has seen? Larry Miller Ford in Draper, UT is charging an $8,810 fee on every Ranger for "dealer upgrades". However, none of them are in stock; all on order or in transit. They also do not list what the "add ons" are. I got my Ranger before all this crap, but...
I hit 30 degrees bank angle on a narrow trail next to a 150ft drop. It did scare me for a second but then I realized the truck was still planted solid. I wanted to stop and get a pic of the display but it was too risky. I didn't have any weight in the bed, but a fully loaded camp rack will...
Tires is the first thing to do. A small piece of vegetation (a weed) punctured the sidewall of one of my factory Hankook tires a week after I bought it. I was slowly driving through a grassy field. Yes, that's all it took. My go to truck tire is the Falken Wildpeak AT3W. They work in snow...
I'm loving the way this Ranger handles the trails. FR260 from Francis peak to the Smith lakes was a good time with no issues or bottoming out. Even pulled a broken side by side outta the way. All stock other than the Falken Wildpeaks.
What concerns me is that my stumble/vibration is inconsistent/choppy. Like something in the trans is slipping or the programming can't decide what to do. I haven't gone to the dealer yer because I know they'll have a hard time replicating it. But if enough of us complain about it they'll be...
Sure if you wanna get overly technical about it. Point is none of the 25+ vehicles I've owned in my life have done this except a Honda crv with 160k miles with a known torque converter issue, and my 21 Ranger with 3k miles on it.
I think something is wrong with these trucks that do this. My whole truck vibrates when when I start rolling into the throttle around 2k rpm with a load on the engine. It feels like the engine is missing but the rpm needle seems to stay smooth. Could be a trans or torque converter issue. My 17...
I too was disappointed when seeing how thin they are. I was expecting something closer to the 1/8" thick aluminum plates my 1993 Z71 Silverado had. Are the f150 skid plates also flimsy or did Ford just cheap out on the Ranger?
No velcro for this model. A plastic edge slides the top to the front rail. I plan on putting mine to use for the first time this weekend in the mountains.
