This will increase stopping and less pedal travel. if your brakes have issues. If your not having problems. Leave it alone.
Maybe I am not being clear. If I do this ABS reset, and I do not like how firm the pedal is after the change, has anyone been successful in regaining their mushier pedal feel?

I wasn't sure about doing it either, but I finally did it yesterday and on the way to work this morning, the brakes felt much better. However, I'm unsure if you can go back, but after doing this, I wouldn't want to go back ..

I read through the first 7 pages, and skimmed the rest. Has anyone been able to undo this procedure?

I haven't done it yet because I don't hate the brakes as they stand. What I want to know before I decide if I am going to do the reset is, can this be undone if I absolutely hate the change?
Well, no, you are kicking the air out of the system.. putting it back in would be tricky and not a good idea safety wise. The biggest issue is going from these soft "mushy " brakes to more responsive brakes like my wife's 2016 F150 that, was my problem until my head recalibrated several panic like stops later. Bottom line, it is not a programing thing, it is a physical thing of removing air from a hydraulic system.

Don't believe you can undo. If you are ok with your brakes, don't do it.
My personal experience was a firmer pedal, but still some movement before engaging.

I am 98% sure I wouldn't want to go back, but... 2% ain't nothing.

I figured this was the answer, but wanted to check anyways. I didn't know if anyone had bled their system and the mushier brakes returned. Not necessarily, 'putting air back in', but... resetting the reset.

On rare occasions, I don't like the pedal feel, so I will most likely do it. Once in awhile, it feels like the truck isn't going to stop or like its taking too long to stop for comfort.

That is why I did it. I think you will like it.

I never hated the pedal feel as much as some it seems, but I did hate that I would randomly start to creep forward after being stopped at a light. Did this fix the other day and has made things much better.

I pick up my Ranger next week from the dealership (YAY!)

If I get a mushy brake feel on my test drive, would the reset be a reasonable/appropriate thing to ask them to perform before taking delivery? I saw someone mention a SBB (service bulletin?) but no number. Just wanting background on what to expect at the dealership.

Very reasonable! I was told of the SB by my dealer's service writer, no number given though at that time - sorry. She indicated that they would perform a check of brake travel and if it exceeding spec, would do the correction noted in the SB. Congrats on the delivery - these things are real fun to drive!

Sounds like a full bleed of the system is in order for your system, something you might see if the dealer will perform under the SB that is out there? When I get time and have the correct fluid on hand, I am going to do the "mushy brake" fix, and do a full bleed right after. My dealer is 3 hours away, which is a fact of living remote in the NM high country.

I will say once I got my vehicle connected to Forscan it was a pretty easy and quick procedure. Definitely use a usb 2.0 connection, that was the kicker for me.

My brakes are definitely and noticeably less mushy, but, they aren't as touchy as the guy in the video said (and like the brakes on my 2017 Escape are). Ran it a second time, no difference between the first and second run through.

Regardless, I'm glad I did it.

My truck sat for a week at the detail shop and now the mushy brake pedal has returned.
Funny you mentioned that. I feel like mine have returned as well. I've started creeping forward at stoplights again and I've been thinking they just don't feel like before. I thought it may be in my head so it's interesting to see someone else thinking they're back in the mush too.

I just did mine. Took it for a test drive, I can tell it's firmed up a bit, not much though. Compared to an Explorer I drove the Ranger's brakes are still much softer.

I've got to try this. I'm used to a Roush Mustang and an Explorer ST. Either of those will stop on a dime just thinking about touching the brakes. The brakes on this Ranger really scared me at first.
