Anyone else have this feeling? I have to push it almost half way before it starts to grab. And that feels inconsistent as well. My Fusion and 95 Ranger feel more consistent and engages higher up.

That was a frequent complaint on the reviews. I do think it has a pretty delayed engagement from what I was previously used to, but I've since become accustomed to it.

I didn't think my Ranger brakes were mushy or felt any different that the 2004 F-150 I got out of, so no concerns from me. They stop just fine. When I drive my wife's MB GLA, the braking takes a lighter foot...lol!

Brakes definitely have a fair amount of movement before grabbing and a lot of modulation once they do. I figured it is just how trucks are supposed to work. I know I wouldn't want touchy brakes if I was towing or hauling!

From this to touchy is a big difference.

My other vehicles just feel more consistent and not so much travel.

Definitely. My GF's Civic feels much better, light feel and firm engagement. Ever driven a Prius? Those are nothing nothing EVERYTHING ha ha!

Every vehicle will have a different feel. My DeVille and Miata both have different feel brakes. If you drive the Ranger enough, you'll get accustomed to how they feel and not notice it.

Im going to get some better pads for the truck.. sometimes it can make a big difference in brake feel. My go to is EBC red stuff brake pads.

I'm going to look into braided lines. Maybe something to adjust the pedal.

I noticed this on the two Rangers I test drove. The brakes were very mushy. I'd try a good bleed procedure just to rule out the possibility of air in the system.

I think it may be more of a pushrod length issue. As soon as I get my truck back i'm going to pull the master and take a look.
