Said goodbye to my 2019 Ranger Lariat today, she just wasn’t quite enough truck for all the things I needed so I got a 2023 F-150 XLT Heritage Edition. I think she’ll do everything I need, plus that Coyote engine! Already getting better mpg than the Ecoboost.

What mpg were you getting in the Ranger and now in the F150?

The Ranger averaged around 16.7 or so, of course to get any performance out of the EB you have to be in the turbo. I don’t have great real world numbers yet but in mixed highway/city driving home from the dealer the 150 was at 20.1 or something like that.

Congrats on the new rig! That paint is very cool and a coyote to boot. Have fun

I suppose best of both worlds is having a 150 and a ranger, if I do say so myself ha

Hey, if I had a bigger garage and a taller wife, I would have done the same thing...

Haha luckily when we built the house I had a super crew super duty with an 8’ box, made the garage to fit that truck. So plenty of room for this truck. Really not that hard of a climb for my 5’2” wife.

Umm, sorry former Ranger guy, but the first word that came to my mind on that paint was... gaudy.
Could be wrong but that's my 2 centavos.
I never understood the need of someone to post simply to put something down .

Like your post? Or this one?
I don't like the paint either BUT I don't have to! Not my truck!
Sorry to see bbenea go but happy he got the truck he needed/wanted.

Totally agree with you, the color is horrendous to me.

I have a 2023 Ranger Tremor that I bought early this year, and I'm going to get rid of it too. I bought it for two reasons: 1) easier parking and 2) better mileage.

Unfortunately it gets worse mileage that my previous F-150 2.7 turbo. The interior rear is smaller than I like for carrying things, zero room under or behind seat. It is only slightly easier to park. I'm going back to an F-150 in about a year. Pretty truck though in hot pepper red which is the color I have.

I think the OP’s F150 paint job is fantastic, coyote V8 makes it even better. Big congratulations on the new truck purchase.

I’m shocked at the reported MPG by some with the Ranger. Either you tow a lot or pound the hell out of that gas pedal. I typically cruise 70-90MPH on our highways and around town always at the speed limit and above. Take offs from lights is where I don’t plow into it. I see 22-23MPG on my 2023 Ranger Crew. My 2019 SuperCab I had for 4 years typically saw 23-24MPG until I switched tires, stock are 35lbs and the MT LT’s I had were 49lbs. Saw my MPG drop 20-21MPG. I gather unless you have weighted mods, are towing, hauling very heavy loads or smashing that gas pedal you should never see sub 21MPG with a Ranger truck.

I don't tow with my Ranger and I'm generally easy on the pedal unless I have to get out a side road into tight traffic (maybe once every three days), but I get exactly what Ford says I should get: 19 mpg. Not shocking at all, just disappointing for a 4 cylinder engine in a mid-sized truck. But it was my mistake in buying it. I didn't check Ford's published mileage numbers before I bought it.
