The oil was low after the engine failed. I have learned that I need to post every single little detail. I will have more details later on next week, but a new engine was approved and that process will start on Monday.

the warranty company approved a new engine. one of the smart things that i did was go to the dealership to have the engine serviced over the vehicle life time. I dont know the exact nature of the failure but will be expecting to know shortly (month?).

IT is getting replaced with a NEW engine.
That’s great. Post photos if they send you any. The other person did and they were very interesting….

I feel like im ZERO at fault here... I already miss Jenny and would like to know the outcome of her unfortunate situation...(and what REALLY went on so im not doomed to repeat it...) I will wait a few days and if no word, I will start my cross country run... well, cross living room limp in my case, but still, it will take effort...

Glad to hear you are being taken care of. Car nuts are detail oriented. :p

This is exactly why I do the same. I was a master certified Mercedes Benz tech and when weird issues came up, service records were king. Granted engines at Benz were RARE, but it makes a difference having a service history with a dealer.

Glad they approved it and congrats. I got my engine replaced at 50k, now at 62k AC compressor and they finally duplicated my ac vent motor issue too, so maybe a new ac box. Extended warranties are great.

If I get a new trans under warranty this truck will be passed to my kids in a few years lol

That said. The original motor was stock but this time around I finally did an intercooler, radiator and downpipe. Still unsure if I will do the Ford tune but I finally might this time.

Did the truck have ASS enabled and active? If so, hope the dealer permanently disables it. I wonder if it could contribute to failures.

Thanks for the really nice comment, when you only know half of the story. I know it is the internet and I should reveal all of my service records so you can judge me accordingly. The oil was low after the engine was blown and before Ford diagnosed it. I hope you are treated as kind as you have treated me.

Thanks. Putting this out here reminds me of why I don't like the internet. Keyboard warriors diagnosing things that they know nothing of. I literally took the truck to Ford everytime, they have all of the records on it. I am hoping for an answer (good or bad) today.
All we did was quote you and you got all butt hurt about it. Go back and read what you wrote.

I think that a lot of your frustration on your issue could / should have been avoided if a True Oil Pressure test would have been performed at the very beginning - this would have eliminated all the electrical chasing.
As if the Oil Pressure Control Solenoid was disconnected - it is strictly a normal engine oil pressure - dependent upon engine integrity -Bearings and Oil Pump as well as a clogged filter and oil viscosity.
At that point of the diagnostic process - The Oil Pressure (Test Gauge) would give you a direction crossroad (Electric Control) or (Mechanically Induced), this is why I asked if a true oil pressure test was done - as it would have revealed that it was a internal issue and then move forward in that direction (Oil Filter-Clogged, Oil Inspection for metal) would be a important step)
Now what was the original root cause - IDK, my guess it was the bearing and metal debris clogged the oil passages and internals of the oil pump.
But that's water under the bridge now, you have a confirmed major issue and the engine needs replaced and its great news that it will be covered under warranty.

Since you are a newer member to this forum, it is filled with some knowledgeable members some current auto techs and former auto techs (like myself) one of the primary things that make a tech good is to ask (DETAILED QUESTIONS) about the issue.
The oil loss is most likely due to oil being burned off in the cylinder (high heat) generated by the improper oil flow and possibly oil being ingested into the combustion stroke.

Sorry you had a frustrating timeline from the start, but at least you have a positive outcome - A covered engine replacement, that alone is a battle that is sometimes difficult to win outside of the factory warranty, congrats on that victory.

Damn, not sure "Little Forest" ever gets to be born here, in this alternate version, Jenny seams much more likely to RUN HIS ASS OVER ! With her freshly engined Ranger of course 👌... RUN FOREST RUN !!!

I sincerely appreciate the kindnesses, thoughts and prayers. The ranger5g group is a rowdy fun loving group, with kind hearts. I've had a lot of fun here and learned a great deal.

Getting synthetic discs between C5-C6 and C6-C7. Both are ruptured and compressing the nerves to my arms, and a few to my heart / lungs, as well as spinal cord.

Going in through the throat. Will stop the increasing numbness in both arms before I have permanent nerve damage. It is crazy how simple tasks become not so simple. I wake up with my ring and pinky fingers numb on both hands. Then have shoulder and arm tingling / burning pain all the way to my palms during the day.

I've got excellent doctors, one who pioneered the technology and assisted getting it medically certified through the FDA. 1.5-2 hour outpatient surgery, but at a major hospital in case of complications. I go in at 8am for prep, surgery at 10am, home by mid to late afternoon.

Then a neck brace for 6 weeks until the bones fuse with the plates. Should regain all mobility.

Seems driving that tractor off a 5' terrace wall ~18 months ago did more damage to me than I thought. Also discovered a 20% tear in my left rotator cuff. Hoping PT will manage that.

At the time my doctor told me that I was lucky to have survived the accident.

Anyway, it is all going to work out one way or the other. My faith in Jesus Christ sustains me through what ever comes.

If all goes well, I'll be back online in a week or so, maybe sooner. The hard part is going to be sitting still for 6 weeks. And I am sure I will quickly tire of that neck brace... but my bride will spoil me rotten.
I am Home! Sore and bruised, but OK. Doc had a big grin on his face when he showed up at post op / recovery. Said the vertebrae are back where they belong, and as a result the muscles and nerves are stretched. Expect pain for the next few days. Take your pain meds to stay ahead of it. Next 3-4 days are will be painful. but things get better very quickly. Signing off for a while until things stabilize.

Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers.
