I must be one of those boring old guys who prefers a regular dome light look. I cant take credit for this one because I've seen it in another thread posted by another member.. I was skeptical, but I tried it and it works. For $3.96 it solved the problem and I’m also saving energy costs by replacing the incandescent night light in our bathroom with the spare LED. :giggle::crazy:

I just unplugged mine from the battery terminal.

Did this over a year ago with no issues. It just makes your charging system treat it like a regular system--always charged vs "allowing it to charge" when it drops below a certain voltage.

Just get Forscan and disable ASS. Cost you a ODB2 adapter snd you can do so many other fun things too.

Anything that draws power from the 110V will shut the a/s/s down. Driving in S mode or running the ac will also disable it. A cheap LED nightlight is the easiest way and the power shuts down after 15-20 minutes once you shut the truck off.
Running the AC won't disable it unless the cabin temp is high.... so, in other words, in AZ. :) My AC will disable it when I first get in, but once the cabin cools off the ASS comes back on.

Good to know. I bought mine in July and never had to worry about the a/s/s until October. One day I was at a light and the engine cut off and I was like . I totally forgot about the a/s/s because the a/c was blasting since I bought it. Bought the LED nightlight and don't even think about it anymore.

For at least 6 months I had the ASS system disconnected at the battery. Everything worked fine and battery was always at full charge and S/S was eliminated.

Got Forscan setup and went to town. Turned off S/S in software and reconnected the battery connection. The other change I made in Forscan is percentage of battery charge. Factory has it set to 75% of full charge. I changed that to 90% and haven’t had a problem since.

Got to say Forscan is the way to go! Allows you to change many other things that you really can’t so easily any other way.
