Finally! Only 3000 more repeat threads to go lol...
That was the first one I merged. I figured if I messed it up one would end up somewhere on here and the way things go off topic I was hoping no one would notice. Glad I did it right. lol

we would have one thread if you merged everything that mentions the damper.

lets try it for fun??
I don't think I could do that in my lifetime. Besides, I already have a full time job.

You ever try putting "damper" in the search bar. Sure it comes up with 25 pages of results but at the end of that, there's 25 more, then 25 more and so on and so on....It never ends!?

Ok, didn't really miss the driver's grab bar on the Ranger until.....I busted my ass! A couple of weeks ago I fractured my coccyx (tail bone). This is one hell of a debilitating and painful injury. Getting in an out of any vehicle hurts like hell. So yeah, I really wish I had that grab bar now.

Oh I feel for ya, that's painful and I only bruised mine and it hurt for weeks! We were playing pond hockey (no pads) and I caught an edge and came down on someone else's stick right on the bone. I guess it was better than the alternative and landing forward though.

I've seen lots of talk about the grab handle and can't quite understand why anyone would care whether it has one on the drivers side or not? The truck isn't tall enough for it to be useful. I mean you don't climb up into the truck like you would a big 3/4 ton or something. Or is it the asymmetry with it being only on the passenger side? Not knocking anyone. Just genuinely interested.
Get older...then you will see the reason they are needed. My left leg is not like it used to be, and I need that handle so I can hike myself up, otherwise I kinda crush the edge of the seat.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I didn't have an issue.... until I lifted the truck, now getting in is OK but I am going to wear out the edge of the seat sliding out to the ground. :)

also when there's ice on the side steps...

I ate it hard on my sloped driveway with ice on my steps last winter. I've avoided that problem this winter, but I've had to be awful careful a few times.

This is the reason auto makers have slowly made the driver side grab handle disappear all in the name of saving a few bucks; because they think people don't care. I do care. It's annoying as hell not having a grab handle while the passenger side does. Our 2014 4runner doesn't have one either. Trucks and SUVs have always had grab handles and I don't know when deleting these became a trend. There was no reason to do so aside from money.
Had one for 10 years in my two Dakotas prior to this. I was never drunk enough to need it. ???

Always to each their own, you are under no obligation to use it, don't bitch about it being there. I think I and others have a ligament beef about it not being there. The European version has an A Pillar grab handle on both sides, why can't we.

Last time I used one was climbing up 46” tires. This truck feels like a Miata. But I wouldn’t want the side airbag launching a grab handle into my face.

Good point, how is that avoided on the passenger side, or vehicles with a grab bar?
