I didn't have an issue.... until I lifted the truck, now getting in is OK but I am going to wear out the edge of the seat sliding out to the ground. :)
Same. It didn't bother me before, but I have FX4 & it became about inch taller with new tires. Then I added 2.5" leveling kit. I've never relied on grab handles before, but it might help, as I think I scrape the outer edge of the seat getting in + I off-road & there are times I'm parked in very interesting spot or position.

if theres ever an aftermarket option for this available i will be all over it. i have to grab the top of the cab AND the steering wheel just to get in my truck. (man, it sucks getting old).
pisses me off seeing all the trucks and suvs on the road that have it, but not on the ranger:frown:

I don't know why they put one on the passenger side and not the driver's.

The working theory has always been it had something to do with crash tests.....

I don't think any of the current midsize trucks have one, but all of the full size trucks do.

Edit: I did find one "midsize" pickup that has a driver side grab handle.

Last time I used one was climbing up 46” tires. This truck feels like a Miata. But I wouldn’t want the side airbag launching a grab handle into my face.
F150s have grab bars on both A-pillars.The side curtain airbags are anchored inside the A-pillar and deploy downward. The A-pillar cover is stationary. I think the way the system operates is the front airbags deploy first then the side curtain ones deploy from over the doors.

The strong opinions here are entertaining given the subject. Go park on an icy hill and jump in/out without running boards. That's the only time I've "needed" it, but not having one hasn't been a benefit in any way.

My AMP Steps eliminated the need for it. And I never slide in on the seat, saving the seat bolster from wear.

If there's an A-Pillar Grab Handle out there for North American LH Drive Rangers,,, I need it.

Does such a thing really exist at OEM quality ?

I seem to recall that someone tried to install either an EU or Australian LH grab handle & w/shield trim and it didn't fit or not properly. The A-pillar is different on NA models and the handle wouldn't bolt up or something.

It has little or nothing to do with the side curtain deployment. Go back up to post #1, there is a pic of an EU Wild Track with the LH grab handle.
