I wouldn't want to be constantly pulling on the steering wheel. that's not its intended purpose. you'll just be risking the possibility of future problems with it by constantly pulling it
I've been getting in my F150 for 4 years using the steering wheel as a grab bar. Never had a problem and hasn't affected the steering wheel at all. Just as tight as the day I bought it.

My wife uses the passenger side grab bar all the time. She wouldn't be able to get in the truck without it.

I wonder if it has anything to do with visibility. Pillars are pretty much the only vertical visual obstruction through the front window, so adding width will definitely change visibility. I know it may seem trivial but lined up just right, you can lose sight of an entire vehicle and definitely a person behind the pillar. Adding even another inch of obstruction with a handle in the driver's line of sight translates to feet at distance

Just something to consider

I am old and I dont need a handle to get in. I use steering whl. Maybe the size of a$$ is the determining factor. LOL

I don't think it will add any width to the A pillar. The handle itself probably is angled so that it doesn't interfere with line of sight of the driver.

Curious as to if anyone here has pulled the trigger on this and determined fit and finish/ color match for the US market Rangers?
Anyone?

The reason for the grab handle, at least in my case/opinion, is to keep the seat skin/cover in good condition over the years. I use the a-pillar and the running board in my F-150 to lift myself out and step down. reverse for getting in. The constant sliding in and out of the seat causes the leather to form a fold and eventually crack. Same thing with cloth seats just without the cracked leather. Just my use case.

Glad it doesn't have it, just gets in my line of sight. My grab handle is the steering wheel. Running board is a waste for me also but the wife uses her's.

Well the kit arrived today. Original Ford packaging well wrapped. Upon first inspection I noted a couple of small differences but went ahead with the install.. IT DOES NOT FIT OUR TRUCKS without EXTENSIVE modification and then it still doesn't fit right. After an hour or so of messing with it.. trimming the metal bracket and modifying the A pillar cover I threw it in the trash.. I had attempted to modify it where it was not returnable. So basically it was a waste of $134 and a few weeks wait time. I am sure many of you are much better at making things work, but in my opinion and MY OPINION only it was a waste of money. Even the color was off quite a bit. IF Ford releases one designed for the 2019 US market I might get one in the future.

Bottom line is I would NOT recommend it.
