It doesn't matter what four door you drive...open the rear windows only and you'll get a painful...this is not Ford specific...

I guess that is why I generally never drive with the windows down. that is why they invented air conditioning. lol

I would rather have it quiet enough to hear the music in the car than put up with all the road and wind noise. The AC takes care of the rest: heat or cold.

To answer the original question, they work as well on the Ranger as well as they work on any vehicle. Which is a little bit! I have the AVS visors on my Supercrew. They are great for being able vent the cab on hot days and not worry about rain. They help a little at speed but not a lot. Cracking a rear window or the slider helps. In general anytime you put a hole in envelope of the vehicle you disrupt air flow and cause turbulence. Turbulence equals noise. Trucks are not most aerodynamic to start with. Doesn't matter what brand or model. Open window at highway speeds equals noise and wind buffeting.

Have the weather tech visors on the '20. They look 'sleeker', but if you have the window down more than an inch it gets VERY windy and noisy. Have the AVS visors on my '01, while not as sleek looking, they are very quiet with virtually no wind noise (with window ~1 inch down).

I started web browsing for deflectors. Previous threads mention "In Channel" which sounds like a better installation than the 3M tape.

But Weather Tech doesn't offer the shields for the 2D Supercab. Looks like I'll gave to go with the stick-on variety. I only crack the window as little as the jumpy control will allow. 1/4" is more annoying and high pitched than 1/2".

Per above if they are good to 1" opening I'll be good.

Wind deflectors do help stop wind noise some . But my main reason for them is to stop rain from dripping in on me from roof . When window is lowered a third no noise but it increases as you go down lower . Mine are AVS brand stick on and these are low profile which makes them look factory installed .

This is one of the times where the Sport Trac was superior, the rear window solved this problem.

That and the manual transmission I had in mine are the two things I miss about it.

Just a heads up for the OP when you start searching for them, the in channel models don't exist for the Supercab, only stick on is available.

Yes, I'd settle for anything right now. ....but quoting some of my Irish ancestors, I think I'm fooked.

I've given up searching for anything that fits the front doors on a Supercab.

Any advice or links will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dave

I wouldn't have thought there is a difference? The A pillar profile appears to be the same SCAB or SCREW.

Nope, Front doors on the crew are shorter than the doors on the Supercab. Ask me how I found out :(

I was wondering about buying a set for a Supercrew and pitching the rear door deflectors.

I'll check an online Ford parts page and see if the front doors are the same between Supercab and Supercrew.
Thanks.

I bought a set of in channels for the crew, they were too short.
