Its the modem that send all your driving data to Ford so they can sell it to a 3rd party like your insurance company. But in return you get remote start, and few other features on your phone. And yes this would kill the OTA updates, but you should be able to use a USB thumb drive for the updates.@seasprite What exactly does it "kill" ? OTA updates ?
This may explain why my insurance is so damn high for no tickets (10+ years) or accidents (in over 5 years)Its the modem that send all your driving data to Ford so they can sell it to a 3rd party like your insurance company. The other side of the fuse is for the alarm horn which I believe is a separate circuit from the normal horn circuit. I installed Fords security plus to keep the remote start feature, but the range to activate it is greatly reduced using just my key fob.Looking at the fuse, how do you remove fuse 9 without removing fuse 8? seems to me that they intentionally tied the horn in this way to prevent people from doing exactly this
Graphene OS has been pretty good, easy install and free. Their web browser needs some work though. That works. Just be sure to de-Google or leave your phone at home, lest Google sell your driving info anyway.
