Had a knock ..dealer said it is low end. Motor must be disassembled and pictures taken .. as part of warranty claim … 95k factory extended warranty.
Oil was in it.. no aftermarket.. just factory tune.

That extended warranty just paid for itself, probably 2-3 times over what you paid.
Glad it's being taken care of...

I’ve been doing oil analysis on my 2.3 and it’s showing higher than average wear metals + ticks on cold start, so I got the extended warranty.

Posts like yours are why I got the warranty.

Hope they get it back to 100% for you soon!

The transmission I was out of a truck 2 months, hopefully motor won’t be as long.. I , dealer won’t give me a loaner, Ford will reimburse $35 a day rental as long as it is a Ford vehicle I’m renting.. found a few fiestas on Turo..

The Plus Side is you can now extend the life of the truck (milage wise) to 200K plus which may be a rarity for the 5G, we shall see. My vehicle before the Ranger just hit 200K and I had grown tired of it and wanted something (NEW) as until this purchase it had always been used.

I just replaced my Grasshopper Big Block Mower engine…$4600.00. Probably get a Ranger engine for that much ..

I think this is the first engine failure I’ve heard of that appears to have died of natural causes.

I just replaced my Grasshopper Big Block Mower engine…$4600.00. Probably get a Ranger engine for that much ..

Summit has 2.3L crate engines for $5K, this one is Mustang, but Ranger should be similar.

Just had my engine replaced under warranty last month and it took 30 days for me to get it back and I work for the ford dealer lmao

I just bought a 2019 with 29,000 miles in January 2024. The dealer has a 30 day return policy, I tried to turn it back to them but they all but kissed my ass for me to keep it. If it wasn't for the ability to flat tow this truck behind the rv I would dumped it the 2nd month I owned it. "Quality is job one" ? ? Ya right.
