The parts diagram shows the negative cable being the same on the Lariat. Is the cable just bent different?

Interesting, yeah, I guess it's just bent different. It's hard to move, but it works. Thanks for the Lariat battery cover part number. I'm still using my old battery cover, with a few gaps where I cut it to fit, but I'll plan on getting the bigger one.

Also if you have ForScan available I would recommend going in and changing the settings for the battery.

Thanks for the tip! I found the setting in ForScan and changed it to the bigger battery.

2019 lariat, 43k, no battery issue warning signs, although I thought the auto stop/start had an issue. Turns out it was very cold and defroster on. Once I turned it to feet, auto SS started working.
Went onto FordPass, running battery specials. 1000ca for $149, Beats the $300+ I've seen at parts stores.
Still going to wait until I get a warning sign before replacement.

Looks like Walmart has the same $179 price as Costco for both their H6 and H7 AGM. Walmart has a 4 year warranty compared to 3 on the Costco Interstate. Think I'm going to go with the Walmart H7 agm.

Im at 6yrs on the original Motorcraft in my Lariat...seeing some weird stuff happening with the electronics. I'm thinking of just going with an OE replacement from Ford....what do those run?

I've been using Interstate batteries for years. They seem to last longer than others.

You might find one with a warranty that long but it would be prorated to the point of being useless. I went last month and got one for my 2019 from Walmart as it is a 4-year warranty no prorate. So far so good and it stays charged longer than the original battery ever did without me running the truck.

Good to know. I'm still having trouble parting with $300 on a battery that really has been acting this way since 2024. Maybe it comes up with more frequency now, not enough to notice though.

That autocessking sure looks a Weize (chinese) batt to me , looks like they rebranded and have added additional resellers. IIRC I paid $126 for my Weize 2 yrs back.
