  1. Rear differential leaking where driveshaft enters..

Looks like the pinion seal? This truck was also gold CPO so still has the extended 7 year 100k drivetrain warranty. I also have the additional extended warranty as well.
  2. Rear differential leaking where driveshaft enters..

Noticed some fluid on my garage floor under my rear differential and discovered an obvious leak. Checked the level and was 4 ozs low. I have a genuine Ford extended warranty for another 4 years so I assume this is covered? 2020 Supercab with 48k on it.
  3. Blackstone used Oil Analysis of my transmission fluid at 36k.

No issues with the transmissionn just was more to get a baseline for the next change/test at 75k. Pumped out 4.5 quarts 3 times through my Mike's Build shop dipstick. Will do the filter at 75k at the next fluid change. Definitely was worth doing based off the report with the elevated wear...
  4. Trans Fluid Temp & Engine Oil Temp PIDS

Does your head and coolant temperature always run the same temp? My head temperature is always around 220-225 and the coolant is much lower.
  5. An interesting test regarding transmission fluid level readings measured at different ambient temps

If anyone wants a super cheap way to monitor temps I just got a cheap ob2 dongle and use a free ap. I bought a $30 Veepeak OBD 2 Bluetooth and the free ap from carscanner.info. Can see my transmission temperature live and even chart it. I think most would be surprised how long it takes to...
  6. Anyone pressure bleed/change their brake fluid?

I just checked and i have a threaded cap as well. Not sure why Motive lists our rangers as a 3 tab cap. So looks like i need the 1109 adapter. Is that the one your using?
  7. An interesting test regarding transmission fluid level readings measured at different ambient temps

Yeah. It's so easy to run the ranger hot when you can lockout gears. I just recently installed the MBS diptstick and found my level at exactly 4.5 hot and it really doesn't vary much from that when warmed up. It's always around 3-3.5 when cold. I'm at 35k and plan on doing the fluid soon.
  8. Anyone pressure bleed/change their brake fluid?

I have the motive pressure bleeder that I have used on my other cars. Makes replacing/bleeding the brake fluid so quick and easy. Any special procedures to follow for the Ranger? Recommendations for brake fluid? Motorcraft? Anyone know what cap the Ranger uses for the motive? Motive lists...
  9. Dash Cam Wiring, A-pillar airbag danger?

I am about to install my fitcamx today. Looks like a super easy install as it comes with connectors to power it from either the auto dim mirror or rain sensors. I like how it's molded into the factory style plastic cover and no running wires.
  10. Just bought used at 34,000 miles.

I would recommend adding an extended warranty when your gold CPO runs out in a year. When I extended mine last year on my 2020 supercab there is special cheap pricing for gold cpo cars. I extended mine out to 10 years 120k for like $1600. Mine was built during the heater box issues so that was...
  11. 10r80 dead. 110k miles. Ford sucks

Yeah. My 2020 supercab was cpo gold and I have been looking into the tune. I assume if you buy the Ford tune and diy they can possibly not honor the 7/100 transmission warranty? I did read you can easily revert the truck back to stock with the tuner. So I guess if you start having issues you can...
  12. Comparability of motorcraft and valvoline ULV

  13. Comparability of motorcraft and valvoline ULV

Someone did a virgin sample on both motorcraft and valvoline ulv over on bobistheoilguy if you search. If i remember correctly the valvoline had a slightly higher viscosity and better additive package.
  14. Transmission fluid change but no filter change?

Yeah. Looks like a pretty robust filter. A second internal magnetic is rare and seems to back up what I read from that ford tech. The same guy recommend 30k-40k initial fluid change then filter/fluid at 70-80k. Seems reasonable.
  15. Transmission fluid change but no filter change?

I remeber a YouTube video of Ford tech saying Ford definitely designed the filter for its 150k intended life. He mentioned it was huge, had a ton more pleats, thicker material, etc than most transmission filters.
  16. The new rangers have a cover/insulator over the high pressure fuel pump.

Saw this on Facebook where someone noticed the new rangers have a cover on the high pressure fuel pump. lt supposedly fits the 19-23 and drastically reduced the pump noise. It's made of the same material as the engine cover. Might also p rotect that area from the famous drip onto the engine...
  17. The Big Oil Brand Judgement!!

Here was my last oil report. Mobil 1 was shredded in viscosity at 4900 miles...
  18. The Big Oil Brand Judgement!!

Prior to my Ranger I drove turbocharged Saabs for the last like 25+ years. The viscosity on every turbo vehicle I have owned has been shredded by 5k and confirmed through blackstone oil analysis. Compared to my 2.3 Saab Turbo the oil analysis on the 2.3 eco boost has consistently shown the...
  19. Transmission Drain Plug for Stock Pan

Dorman makes what looks like an oem transmission pan for the 10r80 and added a drain plug. It's only $65. Dorman part number 265-897. Does anyone have one? Product Description On certain Ford and Lincoln vehicles, when a transmission pan is leaking or in need of routine service, loosening and...
