Thanks for all the helpful replies. I just went out and looked at my XLT and I don't have this button (see pic below). Does that mean I'm destined to hear this alarm forever?

We need a poll on XLT drivers to see how many have/don't have the button.

While backing up with my XLT 301A I can select the alarm on/off on the drivers menu screen. Toggle up or down and the “OK” and it will go off. It will reset once you go to park or is shut off.

Good afternoon:
I know this might be crazy...have you tried unplugging the tailgate?
I don't remember the alarms going off when I had the tailgate off the truck for awhile, so I would imagine that it won't know that it was there if it was unplugged?
Take care,
Kris

Validation, coming from the forum queen?..... never to late for a kind gesture.

Wow you people with the sensitive egos with a damper and tailgate back up alarm problem. Maybe you should never use the tailgate or backup. It is so hard for youse types. :whew:

Thanks for this (I also have the XLT 301A package), and to all the other folks that suggested I try using the info screen by the speedometer.

I'm always looking at the rear-view mirror so I never noticed that the small info screen pops up a message saying "Rear Parking Assist?", with ON and OFF options. I turned it off that way and can now back up without that annoying sound droning in my ears.

Thank-you forum! :like:

Turn off the Parking Assist.

That will silence the alarm.

Dave, It's the middle bottom button marked off P》》 that will also silence the front sensors when they get snow, ice or mud covered. It should reset back on after the trucks shut off and doors open then close.
Tried it this morning and it worked like a charm..... No more beeping!! I guess I should actually read the owners manual one day. lol :giggle: Thanks again!!

Well you can turn it off. But then it turns on again after you turn off the pickup then turn it back on again. So the best i can figure is to turn it off when you put it in reverse?..the prompt will show up switch to off..no sound. I have an xlt 4x2

It looks like there are a lot of different button configurations. I have a 2019 XLT - Equipment Group 300A - w/ Tow Pkg. These are the buttons on my console. Might be determined by Equipment Group?

@350toRanger , what year is your truck and what Equipment Group does it have.

Golly, while backing up with the railroad ties yesterday, I got a severe, ear splitting hi-tone screech alarm that never changed and never went off until out of reverse. Never heard it before...but tailgate was down to accommodate the 8' length and red flag was draped over the camera/sensor area...I do have a damper. Think the issue may have been the Livernois tune or the leveling?:giggle:

I have a 2020 Ranger with package 301A and the trailer tow package. That is interesting that there seems to be so many slightly different button configurations. You'd think Ford would want to standardize to some extent.

It would be handy to have that button, but now that I know that the warning comes up on the center console and that I can turn off the annoying sound using the steering wheel buttons I'm happy!
