*I’m aware that this phenomenon is nothing new, I’m only here to discuss the percent increase.

I got my truck at the beginning of summer, as did a large percent of us I would suppose. Because of that I haven’t driven without A/C very much at all. It was quite cool here in MO today. On the way home from the lake, driving 65-70 I was seeing 28-30 MPG. Normally I would expect 24-25 for similar driving. I’m very impressed that it jumped so far.

Anyone else have similar results?

Wouldn’t know. I live in Florida and almost ALWAYS have the AC on!

The AC does put extra drag on the engine so turning it off will always get you better mileage.

Will let you know in a couple of months when cools off here. :sun:

One morning it wasn't blazing hot here and I had the ac low and the window open and after I came to a stop I thought I had a misfire. I was like wtf don't tell me somethings wrong with my Ranger but I realized that the SS had activated. It was a quick stop and like many others have said I just wish there was a little more delay in it. If I see a significant increase in mpg's like yours I'll leave it alone otherwise I may disable it,or just leave it in sport mode.

Southern California has granted me no such reasonable opportunity since I brought the Ranger home at the end of June.

Ditto for here in Hawaii, in the month of July there were 20 days in which high temperatures have either met or exceeded records on file, August was not much better, September is but 1 day old.
Who said global warming is not a reality?
