I had a conversation out of the blue with a dude from Australia on another forum and he remarked that the vehicles (Ranger/Everest) with the 10R80 down there come/came with a dipstick and gave me two part numbers. Of course, we can't order them here in the US and online parts searches are meh at best.

If anyone lives near a dealer or could make some phone calls, I'm sure that there are a stack of us over here in the US that would be interested in some information.

Supposedly the part numbers are:

Dipstick tube: JB3Z7A228C (JB3Z-7A228-C)?
Dipstick: JB3Z7A020A (JB3Z-7A020-A)?

Really interested to see what the price works out to on these, of course shipping them over here would probably make it a poor deal, but maybe a group buy could be done.

have you tried using a VPN through an Aussie server?
My contact works for a Ford dealer. Their internal system won't even let them see those part numbers. VPN wouldn't work since its on Ford's internal network/login.

FORD DIPSTICK JB3Z7A020A. $9.45. . This came up on a google search
Saw that site. Super sketchy at best. Plus, the only listing they have is for the dipstick, no tube to be found.

If you do a Google search for the actual tube, there is one site Over in somewhere Arabia or some s*** that actually listed, but it's out of stock.
Yea, and it's something like $70, saw that one too.

I'm coming late to this party, but as suggested I searched a few Aussie wrecking yards and found a handful of complete 10R80 trannys: they ALL have the same stubby dipstick the NA rangers do. Y'all are welcome check yourselves. I VPN'd about 8: UK, Europe, Indonesia, the UAE and a bunch more. I checked Ford dealers and wrecking yards: nada. The 10R80 does not come with a traditional dipstick, regardless of vehicle or configuration.

Good to know I didn't waste a ton of time searching then. Thanks for the update!

As far as I'm aware we got the same crappy deal as you did on the 10R80 just a short plastic dipstick in a a very awkward to reach place. Same as on the 6R80. I checked on the Aus Mustang forum - same deal there.

This thread reminds me of many years ago when I was at a Ford dealer I asked about a factory transfer case guard for my Bronco. It was listed in the factory manual I had, the wagon had the captive nuts on a chassis flange and crossmember where it would bolt, and it was listed in the local parts guy's parts list with a part number, but when he attempted to order one for me, according to Ford it did not exist!

I agree they don't come up in our system as good numbers what so ever. The bc3z7a228c and the bc3z7a020a come up for a 2013-16 f250 f350 f450 f550 6r140 with a 6.2 motor.
