back on topic.

the thing I use my fogs for the most is reducing the glare on the road on dark, rainy nights. I put yellow LED bulbs in my OEM fogs. They do illuminate a little bit wider, low to the ground as compared to the factory headlights, but they do a really nice job of cutting that reflected glare off the pavement.

I'd still appreciate dynamic headlights, though. lots of twisty roads in my area and getting even a little bit better lighting aiming into the corner rather than blowing through the outside of it will be a major improvement. but that's a very different thing than what I use my fogs for.

I have a feeling that the increasingly expensive vehicle lighting is going to result in more and more vehicles with persistently busted lights. it'll take awhile for these vehicles to trickle down in the used market, but eventually they will start winding up in the hands of people who have to decide between replacing a light or the whole vehicle.

Fog Lamps. Although the Ranger isn't on the list as of yet it looks like most (if not all) of the next generation Fords will not have fog lamps. With the addition of Dynamic bending headlights they say there's no need for them now. I've never had this type of headlight and I'm sure they work great but it seems like it would still be nice to have fog lights in the truck lineup. Especially for those who live in really foggy areas where the yellow fogs come in really handy. Sure you can add them but just another thing to spend money on.

"The Ford Mustang ditched its fog lamps quite some time ago, and the lamps won’t make it onto the all-new seventh-generation Mustang, either."

Generally Ford Authority articles are pretty accurate. I read them often, in fact I get their email notifications. They are generally a good way to keep up with Ford news, and I recommend them. But at the risk of being a little nit picky, my 2021 Mustang still has fog lights.

My 2016 RS has the adaptive head lights and they are pretty cool. They kind of look around the corner for you. (It also has fog lights.)

You don't think it will create additional opportunity for thieves to pluck out and resell the headlights like some have reported experiencing on their led taillights, I would think the thieving community is up to the task. The taillights are easy to remove, some thieves may relish the challenge of the headlights and command a higher resell price.

It’s a battle between constraints and allocation. It’s a full time job keeping up with information. Our dealer is “ok” but not on top of things like others are. So I stay on top of it to put our order in a position to be attractive so it can be scheduled and built. We can use the Sirius XM via app on CarPlay so no big loss there. Otherwise our order looks pretty clean ( as I type this). By the way they did away with the foot activated lift gate for 23
Dealer allocations are one thing that really confuse me and I think dealers are often less than truthful about them. In my friends case his was actually ordered but never made it past "unscheduled clean" The foot operated lift gate delete was a deal breaker for his wife.

Thinking back to my first car (57 Chevy) No power steering or brakes, no AC, crank up windows, AM only radio, foot operated high beam lights, manually adjustable bench seat. Also no supply chain constraints, and CHIPS stood for California Highway Patrol and you could watch them on tv.

The conversion rate for gasoline converted by an IC engine at the point of use is lower, so you have more losses if you run straight gasoline power. Hybrids can run the engine at peak efficiency, and store the energy in a battery.
Ya know, I am also an electrical engineer, and though I have only spent a total of about 3 minutes thinking about, it didn't make sense how a hybrid could get such high mileage over direct gasoline powered ICE. This makes total sense! I would never go full EV, but would consider a hybrid maybe.

Nah Chevy, Hyundai and Tesla all have heat in the form of battery fires. Cozy!
Have you seen that Dominoes pizza commercial bragging about their EV's? Every time I see it, I think damn, look at all those EV's attracting lightning.

No mine are white too. I just meant it's nice to have the fogs and with the OEM ones you have the pockets and wiring to change them out to yellow if needed.
One of my bi-weekly 3-hour trips take me through some serious fog during certain times of year. I wanted to make sure I had fog lights that were more that just cosmetic and actually helped in dense fog, and were street legal.

After a little research and a consult with a Baja Designs tech, I ended up getting the Baja Designs Squadron SAE Aux Light Pods. Deciding on where to mount them was a bit more of a challenge because I did not want to remove/replace the (white) factory fogs with the Squadrons. I like the extra light the factory fogs put out and they don't seem to bother other drivers. I've been totally pleased with the Squadrons and can highly recommended them!

I know there are a ton of other posts about lighting, so you may want to search through those, but below are pics (and links) of what I ended up doing...

No but that's hilarious. If we had that here I'd run by in the middle of the night and unplug them all so no deliveries the next day.

Will this impact Dampers and One Piece Drive Shafts?
