The difference between what, sitting in Park with Average Speed showing and driving with Digital Speed showing? That doesn't make sense.

That’s clearly a problem - haven’t encountered it - first I’ve heard of it on the forum - visit your Ford dealer - leave these photos at home.

So as I posted above - this is a normal reading, it defaults to last known speed if communication is lost for more than 5-seconds.
so failure occurred at 32 MPH.

I have a hunch the OSS is dropping, requires transmission pan to be dropped to get to it.
OSS - Output Shaft Sensor
Might get lucky and just do a IPC self test to reset the locked in code

So this is related to tranny issues since the sensor is inside the tranny??

Is this why you had to get your tranny replaced? I can live without a speedometer. Cops in Florida drive 15+ over the limit anyways.

I’m having the same issue with my speedo not matching the digital. It’s very intermittent and it happens occasionally but it is very annoying. Took it to the dealership and they said they can only diagnose it if it was happening at the time it’s hard to get it to replicate, I think I figured it out though when it’s wet or the tires spin, it will throw it off and then it just never syncs back up. Not sure exactly it’s been happening for a while. Just came across this post. Thought I would share my experience. Not sure the exact problem. Don’t want to take it back to the dealership because I’ve made too many changes on Forscan. I’m afraid if they do a flash reset or something it will mess everything up and have to replace a lot of modules. No thanks.
