Meh, it's a natural reaction and my go to one. I try not to but after 40 years working construction it's like second nature.

This is why I had my mic off with my dash cam. There's no way I could ever post a video with what comes out of my mouth from other stupid drivers! I doubt it would ever be admissible in court either.

Wow. If you hadn't mentioned the driver's age and the other adult present, I would have thought that the driver was distracted because he or she was finishing a text. I used to have a Sonoma that was totaled from behind by a woman who was texting when she should have been braking. She was still texting as the Paramedics put her on a spine board.

That's a daily occurrence here. But since half of CA has moved here I guess it's expected. If I'm first at a red light I usually wait a few seconds after it turn green. You can bet someone will be running a red light the other way. Another reason why are insurance rates have jumped up so high these past 3-4 years.

That's only a $67/year add on. I just got my new policy and it was just under $300/year extra from my '19. I was really expecting it to be a lot more with the accident (even though it wasn't my fault) and a truck 3 years newer.
