Well it’s almost time to replace my air filter!
what reusable filters do you all recommend?
Or do you all prefer disposable ones?

let me hear what you’re using and what you likeor maybe don’t like about it

Hi John,

Your key metric is how many grams of dirt the filter can hold. Not easy to find that value. Thus I stick with the filter which with the durability testing was performed...Motorcraft....JMO

Best,
Phil

i prefer motorcraft or wix. avoid fram seems to be the trend. project farm on you tube has some really great air and oil filter videos with a lot of info / comparison.
i have a k&n in my 5g but simply due to it coming with the ford performance pack for the ranger as the recommended filter. i also clean it and oil it way more than the box says as i dont trust its filtration ability.

K&N, all I ever use as it's easy to clean and recharge. Not to mention paired with the AFEpower intake snorkel that is larger than the stock snorkel, it SORTA gives you that CAI gain.

I just swapped my K&N for an AEM dryflow. K&N for the price of shipping with 18k miles on it.

Disclaimer. I swapped because some data I saw made me think the AEM dry filtered better than the oiled filer.

I normally run/ran K&N in the past but on N/A motors.

I run the Afe dry but I may go back to stock. I checked it the other day an for having over 10K on it, it didn't look very dirty. I don't drive on any dirt roads an it's not dusty here so I wasn't worried about the high flow aftermarket. I may reevaluate that.

Phil makes a great point. Nothing wrong with the OEM Motocraft Filters at all. That said I did go with the AEM air filter once. Simple washing without having to oil it. Didn't see any dust come through with that or the Motocraft filter.
