Possibly depending on your offset. It’ll probably be close though. You can also remove the plastic cover to gain some room or even loosen the front ones and push them back a bit.
Great idea... I may do that soon just to see what kind of space I can get. I had seen that on another thread that it is possible, but only considered doing it WHEN I put on new tires as a plan 'a' and aftermarket bars as a plan 'b'; it would be a great idea to see what kind of space I have before I start my next moves.

Yeah I'd suggest for sure removing the plastic cover, its bulky. I will say if you go the route of replacing the bars, no need to cut. You can just loosen the bumper to slide it out, sometimes the bolts holding the bar in are a bit seized, at least they were for me.

I've had my 34 (33.9 285/75/17) Toyo OpenCountry AT3s (C rating ones not E) for a little less than a week and I'm impressed. I haven't noticed a dramatic loss of power (if at all) but I do mostly highway driving during the week. Weekends I try to go off the beaten path and they've performed great. The stock tires were terrible.

What I was really surprised by was the MPG hit, I'm getting less than a 4 mpg difference and most of the time its like 2 less or so. I do think if I went with the E rating which are a bit heavier it would have been worse. I think the C ratings are a good compromise, albeit hard to find. I'll post some pictures when I get home. Been meaning to do a show case...
Did you manage to recalibrate the speedometer? If so, how?

Yeah I just used forscan to change the tire circumference. I need to do it again though since now it shows I'm about 2mph faster than I really am. The circumference from the manufacturer was too large (assuming at fully inflated etc) so initially it was saying I was going like 6mph faster than I really was. So I'll see if I can get it to 1mph or live with 2

I bumped up tire size from 265/65 Hancooks to 265/70 KO2's
- MPG dropped from 22~23 to 16~18.
- I was pretty pissed. If you look at my other threads on here you can see me kinda poking that bear here to see if that was normal and if not, what to do about it. I've reconciled with it now but I was unhappy.

SECOND
I got the FPP tune. Now at 310 HP / 370 Torque (+/-)
- MPG improved a bit to 18~19 on highway or off
- off-the-line that HP/Torque improvement is very noticeable, as is the MUCH improved shift schedule
- but there was definitely an upper limit I kept hitting at speed. Hard to explain.

THIRD
I upgraded to 33in KO2's
- MPG variance changed more. Off-road I'm at 15~17 MPG. On highway (not climbing mountain passes) I'm around 20~22 MPG now.
- Overall drivability and handling much improved.
- the upper limit I was feeling before is largely gone. Pretty sure I was just hitting gearing limits with smaller tires. Tuned motor likes the bigger tires better.

I'm never going back to anything smaller than 33's on this truck. I might go bigger.

I also got a throttle controller from Pedal Commander. In town, in traffic, or on snow the eco mode get's used a lot. I almost never use it for anything but that. With the bigger wheels speed modulation is tougher, eco mode on Pedal Commander makes that more manageable. I def don't need Pedal Commander giving it more juice, faster. Turbo lag makes the value of that pretty non-usable in my opinion.

Unclear if I will go bigger still, but I might. It would def benefit from a brake upgrade. I notice brake modulation has suffered a little, which makes sense. If I go bigger than 33's I'll also upgrade the brakes. But I'm never doing less than 33's on this ever again.

I bought this truck new July 21, 2020 with 3 miles on it.
Today May 05, 2021 I have 23,309 miles on it, 9~ months later.

I'm not driving it professionally. It's not part of my job or my job description. I work from home. Those miles are fun miles. All of them. I like this truck. I like driving this truck. I'm driving the shit out of this truck. And I'm paying attention to this truck.

Get the tune.
Get 33's on it. Or get 285/70 R17 on it, which is pretty close (that's what I'm doing here).
I don't think you'll (or anyone would be) disappointed.

Thanks!

So, dummy me - something... I just unraveled something. I... Feel stupid not knowing this till now, I thought it an urban myth - the winter fuel/summer fuel thing. I didn't realize there were actually different fuel mixtures. But there are, so here's the thing about that massive milage drop I realize now. I got that first round of KO2 tires at the end of September - EPA mandates winter fuel blends start going out Sept 15. I wonder if my milage drop was a combination of the KO2 tires and winter fuel mixtures.

Crazy

Well anyhow I'm getting 20~22 MPG on summer fuel mixtures, rolling on 285/70r17 KO2 tires, and never felt better.

The more you learn, right.

Did you have to cut/replace the intrusion beam? I'm planning on putting a 295/70R17 Nitto Grappler G2 which I have the tires already and looking into the right wheels. I have a Fox 2.0 with 3 inch lift, and thanks for the post about the FPP Tune, definitely I'll get that mods next.

What’s the specs on your wheels? I also have a rapid red- I think the bronze looks good on them.

Hello everyone, I am ordering new tires this week. I currently have 265/70R17 (31.6”) and have been happy with a mpg/performance aspect, but like the looks of the 285/70R17 (32.8”) tires.

For those who have 33s, would you do it again? Mpg isn’t much of a concern, but the performance of this truck and my enjoyment driving it is important. Was there a big performance decrease when moving up to that size tire?

For what its worth I would be going with a passenger rated Toyo AT3 which weights roughly 48 pounds, which to my understanding is pretty lightweight for a 33.
So I just replaced my Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3's(265/70-17) with Firestone Destination XT's(285/70-17) yesterday. I already have the tow tune From Livernois and that helps overall. Due to the speedometer beeing corrected I noticed my PowerBand took a small hit. I had a tire at 40 lbs each and now at 50 lbs each.

Getting up to speed? No real problem.

Holding speed? Well I have noticed it helps to keep a lower gear in certain situations.

Offroad? It does very well and I feel is just right with the Old Man EMU lift kit(I know most get annoyed when I mention it but it is true).

Do I feel regearing may help? Yes I do but unfortunately there are no kits for the front at this time that i am aware of.

Hope this helps

I would only go with the 33's as a stop gap before putting 35's on............we have a saying in thailand about having 33's....................translated into english means "big body short legs"
