Not really much different than what the dealer charges for an OEM battery. Maybe even a little cheaper.
Trying to compare battery life in a new vehicle to one even 10 years old is apples to oranges. Modern vehicles have so much electronics and always on features. The battery needs to be a hybrid between a starting and a deep cycle.

Tell me about it. My mom drives a 2011 Volvo. Let that thing sit for week and you will get a dead battery.

I retired from a city's vehicle maintenance facility and we had a serious issue with police vehicles battery life, most would kill a battery every week. As an experiment we used Oddesy batteries and the issue went away. All the police vehicles were switched to Oddesy batteries and occasionally a dead battery but the Oddesy can be brought back to life without future issues.
Same with our diesel trucks, two-years max on batteries, Oddesy batteries the truck would be surplussed before needing batteries. That is all the proof I needed to become a Oddesy battery fan.
Use what every battery you want because it's still a free county (for now).

2021 Ranger Crewcab 2WD 16k miles bought new 6/2021
Realized recently my ASS hasn't worked in at least a couple months that I can recall. Last month I started to get random messages in Fordpass that it went into deep sleep mode. Not every day but maybe once every two or three days. Starting last week I started getting the deep sleep message within a minute or two every time I turned off the truck. Never had any issues starting but it would shut off the radio and interior lights within seconds of turning the ignition off to save battery.
Didn't feel like messing with taking it to the dealer and waiting all day for them to either tell me nothing was wrong or to tell me it just needs charged. Didn't want to get stuck in a parking lot somewhere asking for a jump when it finally did die and had some time to kill today so I decided I'd swap the battery. Figured $225 for a battery was just the cost of doing business in today's world.
Went to Napa and bought a new battery. Installed it (not hard, maybe 15 minutes, worst part was getting the new one into the stupid cloth sleeve) and reset the BMS using the headlights/brake trick. Had to reset the automatic window function (again, simple, just followed the directions in the manual). Took it on a 20 minute drive out in the country to make sure everything was a-ok. Stopped back at Napa to return the old battery to get my core $ back and the ASS worked as designed. No deep sleep message once I returned home.
All in all a pretty productive day for this old man.

OK, so Santa brought me a NOCO GENIUS5 charger and I charged my battery overnight. Starting voltage was 12.10 and after the full charge, 12.54. That still seems a little low to me, what are others who use maintainers getting after a full charge? As a side note, the charger seems to be of high quality.

I'm not sure what mine reads as I never put a gauge on mine. My Ctek just has bars that show the stages of the charge until fully charged.

12.6 is considered fully charged but could be the charger readout isn't 100% accurate or a minor variation in sensing what is a 100% charge state, I looked at that noco and for the price it and looks like a great value. I get as high as 12.8 v from the alternator charge but could be from meter accuracy and/or that I've chosen to disco the bms.

I am getting 12.5 after a 100 mile trip and about the same from the charger, so it may be my battery will not charge up all the way to 12.6-12.8. I am using a Fluke meter, so should be fairly accurate. I might try disabling the ACC/BMS in Forscan and see if that allows for better charging. It is not clear to me what disabling ACC/BMS does in Forscan and what other side effects there may be.

How old is the battery , as a batt ages it loses its ability to fully charge, plus I believe the bms limits the soc , which can shorten batt life, this theory seemingly is supported by all the early batt failures reported here. Should you disco the bms you lose ass, power monitoring/device shedding and sleep features, an aging charge increase algorithm , the battery charge is now regulated by the alternator and fully charges the batt, possibly at a slightly higher (13.4 volts) than the bms. I've had the bms disc'od for a year now, batt is healthy, I do not use ass. Agm batts should be charged at a slightly lower voltage than flooded as they approach 100%, but to me lesser of 2 evils, higher charge voltage vs lower soc with the bms. I've hooked up a trickle charger several hrs after driving, it chargers for under 2 hrs vs over 6 hrs when I used the bms.
