2.5" level kit ride changes

After an install of a 2.5" level kit, what kind of negative ride difference can be expected? Almost all driving is rural, highway, and a dirt road to home. No off roading. Is the "look" worth any negative aspects of installing?

I'm not aware of any negatives. Mine is leveled with zero issues. Drives like a dream...

Depends on how you define "levelling". A simple levelling kit does nothing to ride, and nothing for looks either. No one but you will see it and you'll have to pull out your tape measure to even see it. Levelling with real offroad shocks improves performance, even on your terrain choices. So many stories here on people that install a levelling kit, see no difference, and then go with the full kit. Do the right thing the first time.

My truck rides a little stiffer after the level kit but nothing too bad, and I love how it looks so it was worth it to me.

I beg to differ. I've seen a 2.5" leveled next to a non leveled, and I can see the difference. I just didn't think to ask owner if there was a difference of ride. It seems, from responses so far, the ride is not affected.

Are you referring to a leveling kit like this that involves mounting a spacer to the top of the shock mount? Or a complete coilover replacement that includes new springs and struts like this one here?

You're right there's a very noticeable difference. Here's my '19 when I first installed the 2.5" level kit. There was no negative ride difference and about a year later I changed it all out for Eibach shocks with adjustable coilovers up front. This really is the way to go if you're looking for a huge suspension improvement over stock especially if you have the bouncy Fx4 suspension. You can still level out the front (or leave it with a little rake) and greatly improve your ride over bumps, even the speed bumps at the mall are easier to go over.lol

I've had the Rough Country 2.5" level lift on for over 4 years. It rides just like stock. I did install Fox 2.0 rear shocks to stop the bouncy rear movement. Mainly street driven and would do it again.

The ride won't change if you don't change the struts and only use a spacer on top of the struts.
Some people use a Bilstein 5100 strut which is adjustable up to 2" and it will firm up your ride.
I have a Truxxx 1.5" level with the stock struts due to garage clearance issues and the ride was unchanged. .

I was told that your gas mileage will get worse when you raise the front of the truck, due to the change in aerodynamics (the wind resistance increases because more air goes under the vehicle, or something like that). It didn’t stop me from levelling mine though lol.

I personally don’t like the look of the stock tires on the levelled front end. It creates to much space between the top of the tire and the fender. I put 33” tires on my Tremor and it looks a lot better.

True, but it depends on your driving. About half my driving is in town or on back roads going 45 mph at most so wind resistance isn't going to matter. I didn't notice a drop in highway mpg but it's so hilly here that it's hard to judge.

Thanks. Normally it would be time to get a new truck, it has 105k on it, but they quit making Supercabs, I don't need a back seat, and I like the extra bed length.
