The power is nice and the 10R80 is infinitely smoother than the one in the Ranger and the pro-power is fantastic.

But I don't love driving it. I'd 100% prefer to drive the Ranger as my daily. The 150 is nice on trips, but a pain around town.
It is too big for us. I want to park it in the garage.

On a side note, I have essentially everything I need to bypass the transmission coolant / fluid heat exchanger (I'm not going to call it a transmission fluid cooler because I really don't think it is.) and add a air / fluid cooler up front. The only unknown at this point is the space needed behind the grill. I've got the transmission mount and coolant valve work all figured out. I'll end up pulling the grill and fabricating a bracket to mount the cooler, then route the pair of PTFE hoses with AN8 fittings to / from the transmission to the cooler, and top off the fluid. I am hoping to see a drastic drop in fluid temps - targeting 150F - 165F range.

I think fluid will hold up longer, and based upon my real time observations monitoring fluid temperature, the transmission behaves exceptionally well at those temps, but starts to degrade a little bit above 175F - 200F. The difference is minor, but clearly noticeable. I want it completely smooth.

If / when it fails I'll eat the cost and have it rebuilt right.

I'm also considering dropping the engine temperature to 180F down from 200F. Hope to minimize stress on heads and piston rings. Still checking out the possible negative side effects, if any.

Mine in my 2019 never failed but missed shifts and hard clunks. Never was happy or comfortable with it.

My 2025 RR 10r60 has been perfect. But then it has only been 1k miles. Hopefully it stays that way

If it was missing shifts and had hard clunks, it was failing. Change your transmission fluid early and often to keep it shifting smooth.

Had it changed at 30k and 60k miles. It was doing it from about 5k mikes on. No longer a problem.

Yeah, I’m going there
This is to try to get an actual feel for the percentage of forum members who have actually had to have transmission repairs / replacements ( warranty or not) as compared to those who have never had their Ranger in for transmission related issues.
We often read that it’s only a small percentage of owners who have issues resulting in repairs or replacements. Hopefully this sheds some light on that claim. Thanks for participating
I just got my truck back today, full transmission rebuild at 48,300 miles. The transmission was slipping and very harsh shifting in the lower gears. I have the extended but it was covered under the powertrain.

Changing my answer as my 2019 just failed the TSB test. Should find out tomorrow what Ford will do but since I have the ESP it should just cost the $100 deductible.

Ford authorized CDF drum replacement and service advisor said she will add additional repairs based on what they see.

They sent this picture
