Hey Steve! Good seeing you. I noticed a few only 2020’s it’s happening on too I believe.

Situation is quite sad. Just getting ready to pay up to get it fixed
What’s your build date? They all have been 2020’s. Looking to see if there’s a pattern. Oh, and was the pulley seized on the tensioner or still turning ?

Good thing the Tariffs were not the cause then as the Tariffs were nowhere near as high then.
Yeah, 25% is better than today’s 50%.

Wait, has it changed since this morning. ;)

Well, however they’re made, they sure can’t handle the mighty 2.3’s torque. ;)

Brandon - what’s the anticipated length of your downtime? Any idea?
Not sure yet, just brought it in and waiting for them to give me the details about pay and such. Luckily I am still under warranty I hope, not sure if the FP tune shortened the warranty which I think does say it did. But will find out. Will let you all know the price and down time

Check your driver’s side door pillar - mine is there but only month and year.

When the 5th gen Ranger was built the Tariffs weren't that high either. Here you are trying to put it on that and it isn't. Others saying things about COVID on the other hand I can believe

Whether it was 5%, 10%, 25%, or some other amount back in 2020, I’m not trying to put it on that - merely asking if folks think changing suppliers might have played a part in QC issues.

At this point, we are still not sure if the tensioner failed.... We know the casting failed, but we don't know why it failed. If we could discern it to be the tensioner, then proactive replacement might save the casting.

Has anyone reported a rough or failed bearing in the tensioner?

Or a sticking tensioner spring?

I’m glad it’s covered - that would be a nasty bill to tackle. 👍🏻
100%. Got the truck in November 2020 so 3 months later and it would of been a whole different story.

Hefty bill so thank goodness you are in warranty!

Do you need the TSB done on the tranny while they have it? Any shifting issues?
