Awesome, thanks! Adding some is sure easier than removing.Well if you take too much out, I shipped your funnel today, you could easily add some back in?
Great, thanks! I probably would not have gotten a long enough piece. The dipstick and the distance to the bottom of the pan you will need about 30”, so depending upon how far away the pump is you would need at least 48” I would think, but that’s only 18” to work with in the engine compartment.
What procedure did you use to determine it was a quart low?Installed my dip stick yesterday. What a great kit! Very well thought out and complete. As I suspected, I was down one full quart. The funnel is so good! Shame on Ford for not including a dip stick.
Twenty miles of driving to get it good and hot. Parked on flat ground. Idling in park. Pulled and wiped the stick. Reinserted until it was fully seated. The stick came out dry except for a tiny bit at the very tip below the bottom twist. What procedure did you use to determine it was a quart low?
This backs up my thoughts that there has to be a lot of trannies out there that have improper fluid level because of the stupid factory stubby stick. It's almost impossible to check it properly. And I bet a lot of symptoms of over or under fill go unresolved.Twenty miles of driving to get it good and hot. Parked on flat ground. Idling in park. Pulled and wiped the stick. I've owned this truck since new , and it has always been very slow to switch into or between gears when at a stop. I asked the dealer to check the transmission fluid level the last time I took it to them for service. I told them I'd pay extra, and they said "we don't do that." But for a very reasonable $200 they would drain and refill it. I've done all my own maintenance at home since that day.
