Over the past few days I have tried installed two expensive accessories, a Diamondback cover and a Gibson exhaust. I am ZERO for TWO attempts. At least my Diamondback cover was repairable until the new one comes.
I checked every part and made sure all part numbers were accounted for before chopping into my old exhaust. Then I find out that the Gibson muffler I received was mis-built by Gibson. The inlet for the muffler on the stock muffler has 2.5” inside diameter, the Gibson muffler is 3” inside diameter and was supposed to have 3” to 2.5” reducer welded to the inlet side.
Thankfully I cut the old exhaust behind the outlet so I’ll at least have a muffler, but no resonator or tailpipe in the meantime.
I have wasted so much time this week. Definitely frustrated with my experience trying to add mods to this truck.
