The funny thing is Amsoil's reps swore up and down that their incorrectly spec'd Signature fuel efficient ATF was completely Mercon and Dexron ULV compatible, only to come around a release this stuff.
Just wait. They'll come out with other stuff that's supposedly even better and cost five times as much

Oh my god , they renewed my preferred customer membership because I spent over $500 in calendar year.

I like to keep small engine oil and next oil for Ranger change on shelf. We sold a gas powered lawn mower ,string trimmer and cement mixer that funded these purchases.

I communicated thru customer service and Facebook about specs rating and tests? Other than statement above where it says service life on back it’s not marked.

Pretty label. Signature series? Whose signature?
Why, the person who say's it's safe for your tranny !!!
Guess because it's a "Signature Series" that makes it worth 3-4 times the cost of "Ta Other Stuff".....

@Old Red Replacement ,i use amsoil for everything too. Even the new amsoil ceramic spray. So like you i use it for everything too. All 3 of my rangers have had amsoil used in them.
2 coats of that ceramic spray lasted me though a Canadian Winter, nothing else ever has before.

Amsoil and other oil companys word it so that they won't get sued by the OEM's. THEY recommend it for use where Ford spec ######## is called for. So you see, it has not passed any tests that are dictated by the OE but THEY can still 'recommend' it. If you look at a bottle of Mobil 1, that HAS passed GM's Dexos specification and I believe one from Honda as well. THEY recommend a whole list of specs THEY think their oil is good for, but have not passed or even participated in the tests associated with. It's all a big game.

It definitely becomes a fun game all the way around. You are not wrong but not all oil meets every single specification of each manufacturer. More like different oils will meet different specifications. If you take time to look at Motul(can't argue that I like their stuff) You will find that that rule applies where different oils will be for different vehicles as per specifications and applications. For what it's worth with Motul being global, they have taken time to work with multiple different manufacturers across the globe to make sure they're oil meats or exceeds specifications for those manufacturers. Part of why you see Nissan and other companies using that particular oil brand for certain things.
