That is cheap compared to Oregon. $226 for two years for us in the Portland Metro Area. I have to do my truck by January 2nd. Why should we even have to DEQ our new trucks when they are made to all DEQ regulations?? OH that's right it's all about the MONEY!
Mark,
I agree!

I re-certified with my insurance carrier USAA that the location mode is still active on Ford Pass. They give a discount for a Vehicle Recovery System in case the Ranger is stolen and they need to locate it. Also have their Safe Pilot app that tracks (God forbid!) my driving habits (such as braking and phone use) which I can get up to a 30% discount on the insurance premium with a good score.

We have usaa for our car insurance, and used them for our home mortgage only for them to turn around and sell our mortgage to someone else.

We are really not happy with the downturn in their customer service the last few years.

But not enough to change banks I guess... But enough for us to pay extra into our mortgage to pay it off ~15 years early. ? Fuck 'em.

I did a thing. 28,974 miles.

Tomorrow I pick up a used engine cover locally.

Plugs and boots are laid out with cylinder #1 on the far right.

Plug 4 being behind the water dripping entry was in the best shape (looked almost new).

I also used this as an opportunity to purchase a platform thing I've had my eye on for a while. (it's on sale at Lowes 99.99 from 169.99 or something.

If you look in the holes you can see debris that looks like metal flakes from rust... Only took ~45 minutes and that included fishing the plugs in and out be cause my sparkplug socket seems to have lost it's little rubber catch thing inside it.

Zoom in here at ~230 you can see the chunks.

Edit: I started to wipe down the #1 boot but quit because it was more effort than it was worth...
Bought a used jcr offroad (I think) engine cover of fb market place for 50 bucks last week and installed it yesterday... Seems like it might help with water intrusion. I'll probably get some rubber edge trim to help direct the water away from the giant oval hole on top of the thing...

I was with USAA for 35 years. Started when I was a cadet. Over time they went from military focused and great customer service to just another large uncaring insurance company. Once thought I’d be a lifelong custome.

I used USAA while I served. I never really had a good experience with them. Horrible customer service, insurance was expensive state side and banking was a pain. Ended up switching to NFCU towards the end. They have been amazing with every service they provide.

I've heard many are switching to nfcu...

I don't do any in person banking so I'm mpt concerned about anyvof that, but when I call I need to speak to someone that knows wtf is going on. And I don't need them to thank me 37 times for my service, that doesn't fix anything. ?

I spent two hours on the phone while a USAA rep drummed up a quote for the same home & auto coverage we have from State Farm. In the end, USAA was way higher. Complete waste of two hours.

Also, State Farm has a local agent which is handy. Spending hours on the phone is not my favorite pasttime.

Snagged some EGR fender flares and started to paint them with duplicolor J7 Magnetic Metallic grey to match the OEM trim pieces. Shout-out to the painting tutorials here, were helpful in dialing in technique.

These will help coverage for +2" wheel spacers, need those to relocate bypass shocks outside the frame.

Could've done better with the clear coat on the spoiler, but first time is always off a bit. Top right corner is a little heavy on the clear coat, but I'm no Van Gogh, just tryin to make it look a little nicer than black. Doubt anyone but me will notice with it being above your head.

Just be sure to use the adhesion promoter on anything plastic.

Yup, 2 coats duplicolor adhesive promoter, 2 coats paint, and the same for clear coat.

I got a little heavy handed with the clear on the spoiler, but the fender is better so I'm learning ?

Also added a super custom exhaust tip, reused the unneeded adapter from the CVF downpipe (for those without flex pipes) and bolted it up. Does a better job pushing the exhaust away from under the truck. Very fancy, very cheap.

Installed bds crash bars today to stop the tire rub. Whole job took about 45 minutes, benefits of being a ford senior master technician with access to all the tools and a lift. Only did the fronts, rear has plenty of clearance. Also took off the little mud guards under the front bumper.

Downside to having the wheels poke out from the fender is truck gets dirty a lot faster.

We did this with Safeco last year. We managed to eek out an 18% discount. More importantly though, Safeco scored me as a better driver than my wife. That's worth more than any discount you can offer.
