Bought my '19 in March of 2020. 49,300ish miles as of this morning.

As this seems to be a bit of a "what mods did you do?" thread as well, here are some other notables:

  • No problems at all with the engine or transmission.
  • Oil changes every 5k miles. Mobil-1 full synthetic, Motorcraft or Mobil-1 filter.
  • Installed one-piece driveshaft from Tom Woods.
  • Swapped to deep PPE trans pan.
  • Installed FitzStick trans dipstick.
  • Swapped to Eibach coilovers in the front.
  • Swapped to Eibach shocks in the back.
  • Replaced rear springs with Icon progressive.
  • Upgraded rear bump stops to SumoSprings.
  • Changed rear diff oil, front diff oil, and transfer case fluid at first oil change.
  • Installed Fumoto oil drain valve.
  • Installed AMP power running boards.
  • Replaced heater blend box myself at 43k miles.
  • Riding on Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 265/65/18's.
  • Livernois tune.

    Love. This. Truck.

I had this happen once a long time ago on my first new car. I could not get that darn filter off for the life of me and when using the filter wrench it tore it open. I had to peel it back like an onion and take a hammer and screwdriver and tap it off from the drain holes. Now I drive so little and only change the oil once (maybe twice) a year I just let the dealer do them. I had a great shop back in AZ and now have to (hopefully) find one here.
When I was 20, in the USAF on Guam, I had an old beater Datsun B-510 sedan. I was proud of myself for changing my own oil, until I backed out of the stall, and saw a river of oil on the ground. It seams I stupidly installed the wrong size filter. Live and learn.

2019 XLT new 11-2019 and just hit 70K this morning. Blend door replaced under warranty, Changed Diff oil at first Oil change and I had the Transmission serviced by a local independant shop at 40K and will again at 80K. Engine Oil only change about ea 3,000 miles and oil and filter at every 9 - 10K. Transmission seems to be doing OK just a little hesitation when it is cold for the first few miles and also a random check engine light for about 1 hour a month. Mixed highway and city driving. Keeping this like all of my other Rangers till the rust blows out the body, just got to love Ohio road salt!

I'll probably hit 8k miles in the next week on my 2022. Been pretty uneventful other than installing a transmission dipstick and finding that it was underfilled from the factory and topping it off improved the issues I was having. Seems Ford is regularly underfilling stuff as the Maverick guys are seeing the same (we have a Maverick). I'll be doing fluids this week on our Maverick as we are hitting 10k miles now (already 2 oil changes... and have a leak somewhere up top).

Black beast is quickly approaching 50K miles (49,500), changing oil every 5k miles (Motorcraft synth blend), and getting ready to change tranny :lipssealed:fluid at next interval via MBS dipstick. No motor or tranny issues (knock on wood).

I'm at 82562 on my 2019 Ford Ranger XLT. I change my oil myself every 5000 miles with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum full synthetic oil & a Motorcraft FL-910S oil filter. I'm riding on Cooper Discover Rugged Treks 265/70/17, front & rear Eibach coil over shocks a K&N drop in panel filer & and SCT BDX canned tune. I love this truck like the day I bought it ! I'm hoping it lasts me a long time.

Just wondering how many miles you guys are racking up on your Rangers engine?
I had a valve keeper stop keeping at 59,000 miles. Ford replaced the engine. I was a little nervous because long blocks were not available at the time so the engine was partially assembled by the dealer.
New engine now has 27K on it and runs fine.
I did purchase a Ford Premium extended warranty for peace of mind, so the truck is covered until 132K miles.

Just passed 50k - 5 years and 7 months - can't believe it! I love this engine and can't believe what a little 2.3 4 banger can do. I've had ZERO issues with the engine

Lets See.

2020 2WD STX

Bilstein Shocks - Sumo Spring Blue's

Oil Change - 5K with Havoline Lifelong 5w30 - Soon to switch to Valvoline Restore

2019 at 63k. Lots of off-road and work use, but not "off-roaded". Had transmission work under warranty but no other major issues beyond that. I plan to keep the truck long-term and bought a commuter car ('19 Fiesta ST / go-kart) to save miles on my truck.

I actually used Mobile One Extended Performance oil & a Mobile One oil filter which IMO is a great oil as well at the 5,000 miles. After 10,000 I started using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum & a Motorcraft FL-910S. If I can not find the Motorcraft FL-910S in stock I used a Wix 51348XP.
I read & saw videos that showed Pennzoil Ultra Platinum was just behind Amsoil for wear protection & because it's made from natural gas it's supposed to be cleaner. Personally I feel any good synthetic oil is good for our trucks as long as they get regular oil changes. I just prefer Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oil. I also saw a you tube video from a Certified Ford Technician under the name FordTechMakuloco. His video makes sense. He said NOT to wait 10,000 miles because the filter screen in the turbo lines can get dirty & cause the turbo to overheat & fail. I change my own oil for a couple of reasons.... Some shops overtighten the oil filter instead of hand tight, some overtighten the drain plug where I tighten to torque spec of 25-30 ft torque.
I used to work in a Ford Dealership in the Parts Dept & I saw people come in for service because they overtightened their oil drain plug & stripped the oil pan & I saw new oil change kids do the same. Last when I would sell Motorcraft Full Synthetic oil I caught a technical stealing the full synthetic oil & use it in his own vehicle that I had sold to the customer & put conventional oil in the customers vehicle. That is the main reason I change my own oil to make my synthetic oil goes into my vehicle. Synthetic oil does not break down as quick as conventional oil in heat, it flows better in cold weather for start ups, & it keeps our engines cleaner inside. Sorry that was so long. I hope that helps

I had that happen at an oil change place with my '99 Chrysler LHS. The oil kid, er, Customer Satisfaction Associate stripped out the oil pan, either while loosening or tightening the drain plug with his trusty impact wrench. Fortunately, they were adjacent to a CPDJ dealer who had the pan in stock. The pushed it over to the service bay and gave me a used Plymouth Breeze for a loaner. It turned out that the LHS' oil pan had the threads cut directly into the aluminum instead of a steel bung.
