Put my new Interstate battery in it.
Reset my one touch drivers windows.

Is there anything else I need to do? No idiot lights on dash or weird warning notices or tones.

Reset the battery management so it knows a new battery was installed.

Snuck in a quick wash and wax… hopefully not the last time before winter! It was just too nice today. Finished in the dark, so here is a not-so-optimal pic:

Time to turn this: into this...
1000005877.webp

Started by pulling the oldie off, pretty straightforward, other than the little plastic brake line holder things. Getting those open was a little tricky but whatevs ...

Got all the oil drained into my oil change pan, easy peasy!

They say this gasket is reusable...

I opted not to because it was pretty well formed to the old cover. I also would have had to invest some time with brake clean getting the oil off it so it would seal properly again.

Figured better to start fresh with a new cover and a new seal, especially since once it's on there, there's really no reason to remove it absent a problem. Not saying I'm tossing the old one or anything, it'll be an emergency spare.

Look at that gearset huh?! ? and @Colo_Ranger is gonna have me wanting to change em in no time ? but that might have to wait with my daily driver in the shop ?

Finished product ? it will go on a Ranger no problem. It will go on a Ranger Tremor with SOME problems, mainly the damn bracket holding all the brake lines at 11:30.

Anyone who wants to do it on their Tremor PM me and I'll give you instructions it involves a Dremel and a 90 degree angle drill and a 3/8" bit to modify that bracket a little so it will work with the new cover. Not a big deal you need more patience than skill.

Everything is on and torqued, filled it up with 80w90 Motorcraft, not cause I've got anything really against other blends or brands I just found it for a good price so why not. Took it to dinner, purred like a kitten.

Planning on drain and fill service in the garage every 25k now that I've got a drain plug I can use ??‍♂??

Took off those awful Tremor side steps & installed the White Knuckle rock sliders that have been sitting in my garage for a month and a half.

Anybody in NorCal want to buy a set of Tremor skids & steps cheap?

15,000-ish mile service done on Friday at my dealer.
- New Wipers since it was there and the price was close to what I would have paid for parts.

Installed the front Eibach Pro-Truck 2 shocks today. A tool I was going to use for alignment didn't work so I just installed them at stock ride height (I'll level it a bit when I get some proper AT wheel/rims next spring. First side took 2 hours, the 2nd took under 40 minutes. Took me a while to wind down the collar to stock ride height :) I took the truck out and tore around some NF roads and god damn the truck is smooth now.
