Well thanks to this Katzkin's Install Video

2021+ Ford Ranger Katzkin Leather Installation PART 1 - Driver's Seat - YouTube

I have confirmed that these are different Part Numbers, however this install was for - (Non-Heated) seats, so I wonder if that is the difference, and if the extra (Listing) slots are for the Heat Pad.
IDK - More Digging (required)

I am going to attempt to get a clearer still shot of that parts tag.

Drivers Seat Cushion - XLT.jpeg

Pass Seat Cushion - XLT.jpeg

Heater Mat - Note how it is designed to match the Lariat Cushion, but again this may be a generic (typical) install pic

So now the question is - for those with (XLT - Heated Seats)
Which style of cushion is used and does the heater mat P/N change with it? Hmm

After looking at these (2) designs side by side, I believe my issue is the design of the Lariat seat cushion, that split on the back half of the cushion allows the cushion to flex and this (MAY) be what I am feeling (sagging)

Until confirmed, this is my guess on the part numbers as if anyone has looked online it gets rather confusing on seat cushion parts across the trims, some have a completely different part number associated (with included Heater Mat and or Occupant Sensor) with no separate part number for the cushion

It appears to be the same part number for both Dr & Pass and the only different part number would be the Cover (Side Specific) due to the side cloth between the seat cushion and the center console (rubbing protection)

Lariat: Style 3 Horizontal Bolster slots
Cushion - KB3Z-2163223-B
Heater Mat - KB3Z-14D696-B

XL / XLT Style - 1 Horizontal Bolster Slot
Cushion: KB3Z-2163223-A
Heater Mat - KB3Z-14D696-C (Fits this cushion with Heated Seats option)

I am awaiting confirmation of these part numbers to be correct.

This style was mine.
The seat heater pad was as you show for the option, KB3Z-14D696-C.

My Katzkin replacement covers we designed for XLT style cushions.
I believe that the Lariat did have a different number.
There is a video floating around YouTube on factory seat cover replacement. I can't find the link right now.

So, to confirm you have this design on your cushion
Note: This still pic was taken from the Katzkin install video

Note how the parts IPC does not match the cushion design (actual), this is what makes it somewhat confusing when looking in the parts diagrams and why I am digging into what is the actual design difference and Part Number (Change)

Mine had a center groove. I know because I used crap load of hog rings..
I aligned the center first. I'm wondering if there was a change in the later years.

Here you go..
Bing Videos

I think seat heater pad is what has the center groove on cushion.
Ok, then you have this cushion design as the still pic was taken from that video you posted.
and it appears they are only using a different cover, and the cushion remains the same part number the (-B) is the revision change and (MOST LIKELY) if I were to order a (-A) I will receive this design as it is the most current revision number

The only thing that makes sense on how to get a (finished view) on your cover and this (2nd) pic would be the length of the (fabric) seams or (Listing Rods) that change how far down (Tightness)
to create the different design in the finished design

I have reached out to Benny on this and await reply

1724005484013-dg.png

So, your cover has mounts (listing rods) that attach in the center of the cushion but do not pull it downwards into the grooves? Correct and give it a smooth cushion appearance

1724006156259-5l.png

Unlike This one: Which pulls the fabric tighter (down into the groove)

So, if I am correct your cover only used the (side & center) attach points and the rear attach was either not used or it was longer to eliminate the rear bulge in the bolster design

Since part of my issue is with that rear bolster, my tailbone rides on the outer edge of it unless I scoot forward some (slouch) that's why (not I am focused) on that specific spot as part of my discomfort area.

Just trying to determine how the same cushion can provide a different finished look when the cover is attached and what I thought was a different cushion now appears to be just how the cover is attached to it and that may be my issue.

After Benny replies, and I get a final confirmation on the part numbers, I may just try switching to the cloth covers (trial & error) nothing wrong with trying them out.

I am waiting on the Cushion / Cover / Heat-Pad - Parts to arrive as well as Hog-Rings and Pliers as I have been holding off pulling to actual cover until everything arrives

Install the new cushion (assembly) then play with the off coming cushion assembly (different cover) and or upholstery shop help in getting that cushion to comfortable.

So, it appears at this point (if the cushion) is the same part number. I will be interested in you off covers, for my testing

Mine fastened down with hog rings in the very back, middle and sides as the video I linked in previous post.
I also used very small hog rings can’t remember off top of my head what size but in the kit they were the smallest ones.
In the KatzSkin video they used a cushion without heater. I guess the make Lariats with leather and no seat heaters.

I do not know what the defining differences are between the 2 part numbers but if your cushion is the same as the -Lariat video then it boils down to the cover design and that hem width , yours are longer so it does not pull downward so far to create the (seam) indentions the Lariat cover does.

I’m in the comfortable camp too - short trips, long trips, in between trips - even 18 or more hours straight from PEI to Toronto in total comfort.

Must be super annoying to be that uncomfortable. I hope they can beef up the springs or add different density foam to help you get some comfort.

Otherwise, it’s this…

and that sucks.
Between losing weight and my spine surgery my tail bone got sore so I bought a 2" gel filled pillow for my Noassatol problem and a lumber pillow. Now I can adjust the lumbar for more or less support as needed. These 2 have a light coating on the back side so they don't jump out of the truck when I get out.

Hmmm, sounds like someone spent a crap-ton of time with their butt in a Caprice. You should bill the department for those goodies.

Duke I told them I would take the oldest pos car in the fleet if I could have a good seat with lumbar. 34 years on 12 hour shifts wearing a duty belt , vest etc in a crappy seat isn't good on a back. Plus all my scuba rescue gear.

Man, that weight belt alone would be enough for me. The stuff we do when we’re younger all seems easy enough and it sure can be a lot of fun when we’re doing it but we sure pay for it later, huh?
