That video reminds me of the one time I owned a VW. I hate the wheel lug set up that's a bolt instead of a stud. PIA to line up an get started.

Last year the dealer's rookie mechanic drained the oil without removing the skid plate. Big mess for sure. I ended up redoing the entire change in my garage using full synthetic not the blend the dealer had used. So fast forward to the recent oil change at a different dealer. Asked for the works w full synthetic. In and out in about an hour. After I got home, I had to check the oil level. Not surprised to see it all the way up to the twist. So, I decided to replace the filter to lower the level. What a surprise when I fold down the liner flap to see a date written on the back of the filter. Yup, it's the filter I installed several months back. I have always marked the filters I install with a date. Back to the dealer who was quite unhappy to see the proof of his employee's poor work. They redid the entire change gave me a coupon for a free works change. I only go to the dealer to let them do the tire rotation but I'm thinking maybe that's not so important. Also, noticed on the receipt, they had dinged me for 7 quarts. Change requires 6.2 quarts. .2 quarts (6 ounces) is not even a cup. If I ever again get a dealer oil change, I will tell them just put in 6 quarts and I will top it off.

Super easy way to rotate the tires.....buy em from Discount Tire and every 5000 miles run your truck up to them and 20 minutes later drive away with rotated tires !!!!

Haven't tried it yet, but I think they would actually rotate the tires on my wife's Subi even tho I bought them at another tire retailer.

They did my truck, and I haven't bought anything from them...

I've bought from tire rack though.... Wonder if there is a connection there.

Both owned by the same corporation....
Discount is the store front and Tire is the online part...

My dealer is $79 with tire rotation last I looked. Iffy Lube across the street from my work is $99 for synthetic and no tire rotation. I usually change the oil and rotate the tires myself, keep the receipts, and log the mileage.

Just got an oil change at the local Ford Dealer in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and it was $130 plus change. First one I got in So Cal in 2022 was $89 then one there in 2023 was $99. Have enough points for one more free one, then it is time to do them myself. The price of $130 is just getting out of control. When I was still working my wages never increased at such a fast pace.
You lost me at Ford Dealer

Only because they were free with points I got from the purchase. Otherwise would not have used the dealers for service. I guess I could have used the points for other products instead of service.

you'll need a little trim remover tool they often include 100s of new plastic tabs too for around $10
and Get one of These: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GX1VMRP?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
drain plug is 15mm
i had the worst time getting filters out until i got this thanks to another forum member telling me about it. once you find the little channel that directs the filer oil to fall in a certain spot you will find this a very easy change they really did a good job once you figure out the access... was near impossible to get filter out without that tool though, what a nightmare...
I totally agree on getting the universal oil filter tool., makes removing the oil filter a breeze. When you remove the filter the oil will run down into a channel designed for that purpose and it will drain straight down in a spot on the drivers side. Make sure you have some rags positioned behind the drivers front suspension to catch the first drips before you can know where to position the drain pan. Saves a mess on the floor. I flush that channel after I install the new filter with some aerosol degreaser.

On the trim removal tool, you may not need it (at least for the filter change) depending on the model year. My '22 XLT has screws that hold the trim piece in place. I just remove like 3-4 screws and flip the flap out of the way to gain access to the filter.
