Even if I could bring myself to buy one and install it, I couldn’t live with this…

That would be pretty cool but looking at the dates it's for the ROTW Rangers. Besides, there's only one original! ?

But, it appears it does not open to a work desk, single serve coffee maker, or mini fridge.....
Unlike the Chebbie with it's 23 1/2 way tailgate or the Fiat.....I mean Ram with its bed side suitcases, our is still just a plain ole tailgate......

OMG!!!! No shit. Those tailgate wars are out of control. Were I in the market for a truck, anything other than a tried and true basic "tailgate" would be a negative in my decision making process. It's a freaking tailgate for Pete's sake. Leave it alone.

You should also avoid Boeing unless you want to be in the sequel to this…

Not gonna lie , I like the idea of my tailgate being more useful and such , some have a ruler , built in steps , storage compartments , kick ups to hold stuff in place and on and on and I'm IN ! 100% ! Tailgate engineers can reach for the stars as far as I'm concerned... but, I can open and close it fine without assistance, no matter the weight , no matter the struggle ? , you see , for me at least , the opening and closing of the tailgate is about the only "manly" thing left in life (mine anyway) it's often the first thing you do when getting out , or the last thing you do before you get in, it can project "attitude" or let you know what mood im in when opened or closed in a certain way, don't castrate that away from me with some damn button on a fob...

If I could only find a spring assist. Every since the tailgate storage it's like opening and closing a 79 F350 tailgate.

I'm sure there will be no shortage of demasculated soy boy, pavement princesses out there who will jump on the oppurtunity to express their masculenity by pushing, yet again, another key fob button.

As an elevationaly challenged Senior citizen. I might go for a ladder. And I did add the damper. I think I have the strength to manually open the tailgate.

Ahhh, so now you're a Emasculated (it's not demasculated) soy boy if you like gadgets that make your life easier/simpler? I'd actually love to have the option to control the tailgate (or the windows) from the fob, it's called modern conveniences. But I'm sure you're so masculine that you disconnected your hvac system so you have no heat/ac, no power windows, door locks, radio or power steering right? Who needs comfort?

Hay....at my advanced age it takes a lot of concentration and advance planning to push a button....not something you can do without following a regimented course of study that involves brain reaching out to muscle....and since I have a damper my muscle atrophy is in it's advanced stage.... so extra long planning to "push" is necessary....
