Hey dudes,
Thinking about doing a transmission service and looking for some advice.
I just hit 43k miles and I’ve heard Ford recommends doing it at 30k(?). Someone I asked said they did theirs around 45-50k. Just wondering if it’s necessary. Other than the occasional normal Ranger rough shifting, it feels like it’s running just fine (when I let the truck idle down to 1000rpm upon start up it seems to really help with the rough shifting). I want this truck to last me a long time so I want to stay on top of services.
Is it something I can do myself?
How much should I expect to pay to have a shop do it?
Thanks for any help!
